Meghan McCain Bites Back at Laura Ingraham

Meghan McCain’s not one to let herself be insulted.

The budding journalist, who is also the daughter of former Republican presidential candidate John McCain, today blasted radio host Laura Ingraham for her remarks that she’s "plus-sized."

Wrote McCain on her Twitter page, "Laura Ingraham, please stop talking about my body." She then offered this message: "To all my girls out there. Don’t let anyone make you feel bad about your body! I love my curves and you should love yours, too!" That’s right, girl!

Update: McCain offers a more detailed response over at The Daily Beast, in which she writes: "At this point, I have more respect for Ann Coulter than I do for Laura Ingraham because at least Coulter didn’t come back at me with heartless, substance-less attacks about my weight."

First of all, I would like to say until you have had a child that makes a mistake regardless of how well  you raise that child, that is not something that you should have to answer to, unless you are able to follow your child around 24/7, you do not have control over what they do or the mistakes they make. That is up to the individual, just as what we each do, the mistakes we make is something we, ourselves answer for, not our parents, not matter what they stand for. To do anything other that what Sarah did, would be going against the person she is, not the candidate, not the governor of Alaska, or any other future or present role she might assume. She would have been less of a mother, which apparently is more important to her than what any of us might think of her decisions. Would you have your mother turn her back on you because you made a mistake? I think not..I know I would not…

This has nothing to do with Sarah being a good or bad Mother, she backed her daughter and that is the right thing to do?  I think you are getting this all mixed up, my point here is you can’t go around telling folks to do one thing when your family member has done the opposite.  Sarah was calling for abstinence during the campaign was she not?  Bristol her daughter got pregnant did she not?  All I’m saying is that smacks of hypocrisy when you have Sarah saying one thing and her daughter doing the opposite that’s all it’s very simple.  Nothing to do with Sarah being a good/bad Mother just looking like a hypocrite during the campaign and you can’t get away from that.

Cap, go outside and get some fresh air.  You are talking to a brick wall in here. It is classic cognitive dissonance.  The narrow paradigm of the neo-con life is so rigid they will never seek understanding or non-partisanship because they are actually afraid to embrace equality and real democracy. Some of these posters ideology doesn’t encourage colouring outside the lines at all.   They are shallow enough to sincerely believe that we were all just jealous of Sarah’s beauty.  While we were all hugely impressed with her when she came on the scene for about 5 minutes, after she opened her mouth a couple times we realized she was a prop and a sham, and feeble attempt to reinvent the Republican brand and her tactics of generating fear of Obama were creating a bigger chasm that can never be filled.

You are right of course, they won’t have it any other way than their own..they have all the answers and the Rep Party is the best thing since sliced bread to them.  So narrow minded and refuse to take responsibility for anything and the new name the Party of No seems very appropriate don’t you think?

Party of No seems like a great name.

Yes, you should be responsible for your 16 or 17 year old kid. Who else would be? If my kids grow up to be f**k ups, I shouldn’t go to jail, but I would take moral blame and responsibility for my failure… When you go having a shotgun wedding and having kids out of wedlock (like Palin did), while preaching conservative values, you can’t expect your kids to be a whole lot better… Palin is a horrible and selfish mother. I think as a 45 year old, she had no business getting pregnant and giving birth to a down syndromed baby (especially if she already had 4 other kids, who didn’t turn out too great). There’s a reason why all medical professionals recommend for women not to have babies after 35. Maybe if Palin ever read books instead of banning them, she would know better.

That has been my point I’ve been trying to make but they won’t hear of it on here, Sarah Palin was being hypocritical during the campaign talking about abstinence when she was flaunting her own pregnant daughter around with her at the time.  If that doesn’t smack of hypocrisy I don’t know what does!!

How about you list those books that she banned? Now that would be helpful.

To call her a horrible and selfish mother is ridiculous and hateful, not to mention ungrounded. Simple politics talking here. A point was not made nor supported here.

China has a wonderful law concerning children….especially females….now there’s something that you can rant about.

I don’t know what books she banned, but there is enough evidence showing she either banned books or wanted to…

Yeah, China has laws concerning children, and I’m glad we don’t have those laws here. No one’s saying Palin violated laws, but she lacks common sense. I look at her just like the Octumom. There were no laws saying she couldn’t have 14 kids, but for somebody in her position, what she did was simply stupid! At least the Octumom is not being a hypocrite preaching against her own behavior… Palin is at the very best, a bellow average woman, with absolutely no business being the leader of anything (including her own household), let alone the entire United States…

I kind of want her to run in 2012 though, cause I’ll get a good laugh out if it, and Obama will cruise to his second term.

Maybe she can even have Joe the Plumber as her running mate :)

Nope…not a good enough answer to register as note worthy. Obviously, there is NOT any evidence otherwise you would be able to cite some. Just more inflammatory untruths.

Sarah Palin did not implant 8 embryos. Sarah Palin is a married, employed woman. You do not know the what or why of her last pregnancy. She took responsibility and has not expected the public to care for or pay for her children. To compare her to the Octomom is disingenuous.

To say that Sarah Palin is below average can be refuted in a miriad of ways. Comparisons of her successes are easily had. She is an outstanding woman by any standards, who has had a most successful career. To say that she is not, again, is disingenous.

To say that you would not vote for her as President is one thing. I’m not sure that I would either. But not based on the groundless assumptions that she bans books, had no right to have her child, or that she is not a capable woman.

Obama may take a cruise alright, on your money. He is an incompentent novice who has already shown his perchance for lies and socialistic government.

Are you really a male? You don’t seem like one to me, your writing that is.

Here’s a little evidence for you on banning books, http://abcnews.go.com/Blotter/story?id=5766173&page=1. Maybe she didn’t achieve her goal to actually ban the books, but it looks like she really wanted to.

After seeing and observing Palin for the past year, I definitely don’t think she’s achieved anything based one merits, intelligence, or anything of value. I think she’s incompetent and is only where she is, because she’s cute, folksy, and LUCKY. I mean anyone might win the lottery and become successful. That doesn’t make them a high achiever… Anyway, I don’t even know why we’re wasting time arguing about her. She’s a has-been, her 15 minutes of fame are over, and all she is these days, is an embarrassing international jokester… She has a zero chance of ever winning anything in the national spotlight, and it’s not just because of banning books. There are at least a 100 good reasons why intelligent people wouldn’t vote for her to do anything, but to wipe baby butts!

Oh, and before calling Obama a socialist, just remember, it wasn’t under his watch that the government took over the largest insurance company, took over some of the largest banks, bailed out the 3 automakers, and passed a 700 billion dollar bailout package for the financial industry. That was ALL done under your republican administration. All Obama has done so far is to pass an 800 billion dollar stimulus package to save the economy that your "capitalist" republicans destroyed and demolished in the past 8 years. Think about it, who’s the real socialist?

Lastly, yes I’m a male. I don’t how your grumpy old republican men talk over there in Texas, but here in California, this is how we speak and write!

Not "evidence" at all, as a matter of fact, it undermines your assumption that she tried to ban books. Good thing that you’re not a lawyer….

Lucky? You explain the years of political experience and offices she held from Mayor to Govenor as incompetece? Hmmm…you must have one auspicious career there yourself to demean her obvious and undeniable successes. Too bad that there aren’t any substantial points made in your discourse.

I am not going to waste my time explaining what party controls what and when… The fact is this; Obama has just spent the most taxpayers money in the history of the WORLD. None of which actually make jobs. Earmark galore. Spend, spend, spend. One would have to have their eyes and their minds closed to think that what has been manipulated from the American people is for the American people.

Try reading about Obama, his beliefs, his mentors, his pastor, it is all there, one only has to look. He is a liar and incompetent himself.

I have lived over 25 years of my life in Ca. so don’t even attempt to tell me about Ca. men. Your tone does not sound masculine to me, that’s all. Nothing wrong with that, just an observation. Oh and the men here are far from grumpy. As a whole, they take care of their families, work hard, and accept responsibility. They love this country and will fight for it.

As a plus…unlike Ca. men, they generally don’t borrow my facial products…. ;]

Also, Meghan is young. She’s more on the liberal conservative side, like her father. She will mature and become more conservative. Most people who mature become more conservative. That’s why most libs are very young…or just haven’t grown up yet.
