Meghan McCain Describes Self As 'Pro Sex' on 'The Colbert Report' (Video)

Meghan McCain on 'The Colbert Report'

Meghan McCain no doubt made her father John blush last night when she described herself as a "pro-sex Republican" on Comedy Central’s "The Colbert Report." She’s also "pro-life" and "pro gay marriage."

When asked to explain the first description, McCain said that Bristol Palin proves that it’s "not realistic" for the Republican party to maintain abstinence-only sex education. Ms. McCain, who writes for the Daily Beast, then squealed, "My father’s going to watch this."

Colbert then pointed out that Barack Obama doesn’t even support gay marriage, to which McCain said that she thinks her party could be a good place for the gay community. Employing his patented sarcasm, Colbert grilled her on that touchy topic, how the GOP can attract the youth vote and survive the next election. She’s sure to point out that technology isn’t the best route: "I don’t think twittering is going to convince people that the Republican party is cool." She refused, however, to discuss Sarah Palin.

Once again Meghan is showing that she is a modern day Republican and not one the party now as it stands will want to embrace.   No doubt she will be hearing from her usual critics on the right for speaking in such  outlandish terms as they will see it.  I’m pretty sure soon she will accused of NOT being a Republican at all, that’s how it’s been so far if you have the nerve to oppose the old doctrine.

She gives new meaning to the term  RINO!!!   She needs to have a heart ot heart with herself and come to the realization she is only a registered Republican to please her dad..or to get attention!

I think she is a true Republican in her heart but she cannot accept what the party has become and sees things very differently from them.  I applaud her for speaking out against them if she sees them not in keeping with what she believes the party values should be and is letting them know, of course she will be demonized for doing it because no one is allowed to think outside the box.

The message she is conveying is compelling and timely, I applaud her for that. But…..she could use some P.R. help in regard to public speaking. Many have criticized her for the "valley girl" manner of speaking she has and I must admit it is distracting.

I equate it to Paris Hilton on Meet the Press discussing Nuclear Nonproliferation in the Arab nation…..somehow the manner of speech and the words being spoken don’t go together.

Good for Meghan.  She’s a confident young woman and  made some good points.

Bristol Palin is on her Abstinence Tour.  That is just too rich.  I hope the Republican Party doesn’t fade into the sunset.   I’d miss the laughs.

Right now, Meghan is the most sensible and intelligent voice in the Republican party. It’s too bad for the party that the other prominent members don’t see how refreshing her candor and realism is, even if her mannerisms are not always professional.

This woman is confused. She is apparently too attached to pleasing her dad to admit to being a Democrat at heart, but she is very naive if she thinks the Republican Party is going to allow her a voice. The will continue to ridicule her.

What is "her" party?  She seems to want to reinvent the one she recently joined.  She should start her own becasue she does not fit in the one her father is in!

Well she couldn’t very well say she was "anti-sex".

She is again the convenient idiot!  Megan ..you are becoming an embarrassment to women.  She must me jealous of the Palin woman’s media attention and feels she has to compete?

SJ….the only reason megan is getting any attention by the media at all, is because they are pressing her for info about Gov. Palin…they want the dirt on her, so by interviewing her, they are hoping she will talk…..as soon as she finds out that is what they want from her if she wants the spotlight, then she will have to start telling tales out of school, so to say.

Speaking of Palin..did you hear the FEC cleared them of the trumped up charges on the expenses for her clothes.  Seems they can spend party money anything they deem fit..it is the fed funds ( you know the ones Obama promised to take and then reneged on) that cnanot be used for thos expenses.  No dirrerent than Obama’s greek pillars and stage decor!!!

I did see that.  It was donor money, not campaign funds.  No news there.  Good for Sarah, but I still wonder why that donor picked up the tab for a $92 onesie for the baby  and all that expensive clothing for Todd?  Help me out here, SJ.   What was Todd running for?
