UK Denied Michael Savage Entry | 05/05/2009 9:45 am

Michael Savage Barred From UK for Inciting 'Hatred' and 'Extremism'

Conservative radio host and author Michael Savage has been barred from entering the UK for allegedly stirring-up hatred and fostering extremism, Home Secretary Jacqui Smith said.

Smith claims Savage has been "engaging in unacceptable behavior by seeking to provoke others to serious criminal acts and fostering hatred which might lead to inter-community violence" and he has been banned since October, 2008. Also banned: Islamic preachers Abdullah Qadri Al Ahdal, Amir Siddique, Yunis Al Astal, and television preacher Safwat Hijazi. Prolific speaker and writer Wadgy Abd El Hamied Mohamed Ghoneim is also listed.

"Coming to the UK is a privilege and I refuse to extend that privilege to individuals who abuse our standards and values to undermine our way of life," Secretary Smith said. "Therefore, I will not hesitate to name and shame those who foster extremist views as I want them to know that they are not welcome here.

"The government opposes extremism in all its forms and I am determined to stop those who want to spread extremism, hatred and violent messages in our communities from coming to our country. This is the driving force behind tighter rules on exclusions for unacceptable behavior."

In the period from August 2005 to March 2009, a total of 101 individuals have been excluded from the UK for having engaged in unacceptable behavior. Of these 101 individuals, a total of 22 were excluded by the Home Secretary in the period from October 28, 2008 to March 31, 2009. On May 5, the list became public. Click here to view it.

In a written statement to Parliament, the Home Secretary defended barring people from the UK saying she is protecting her people’s safety.

It is therefore right that we have an ongoing engagement with interested parties in order to strike the appropriate balance and ensure we protect public safety and vital national interests here and abroad. Therefore my officials will continue to engage with community representatives to seek their views on the way this policy is operating.

I can definitely understand this decision. I mean, just think of the legions of extremists who rose up on hearing Michael Savage to commit acts of terrorism.

Wait, my mistake…it’s the people who listen to their radical religious leaders telling them that god wants them to do this-that-and-the-other-thing who do that, not the scary talk show hosts. Equating the two is just ridiculous.

Yep…coming soon to an American city near you! But wait…one free Burka to all!

The UK might as well bend on over and kiss their butts goodbye….the extemists have beat them by holding the UK accountable to their own game. No common sense any more….all PC BS.

this is outrages to put an american patriot like michael savage on the same level with muslim extremists who kill people, michael savage has never touched a fly on the wall, he is just talking the truth from his heart.

london, why are you so afraid of michael savage? because he may expose you for the world that you are not the london of the past because you lost your way. instead of taking on the real challenge to battle your enemies within, the muslim extremists who are terrorising jews & christans on daily basis & will in a few years take over your country, you have picked the wrong fight’ we are all behind michael savage & we will not travel to the uk untill michael savage is taken off that list http://twitter.com/savage_limbaugh

LOL, the man should be banned from the human race not just Britan.

and just an FYI and one example…the guy who killed six people in a UCC "liberal" church in tennessee left a letter behind, Savages name is supposedly in that letter, so maybe he has incited acts of violence?

"LOL, the man should be banned from the human race not just Britan."

How totally proving that statement is, of the INTOLERENCE of the those who screech tolerance…except when THEY disagree.  Spot on…

Mary, do you know what LOL means? It’s laugh out loud…as in I was making a joke…goodness some people just have ne sense of humor about extremists :O

I disagree with speech based on ignorance, but it’s allowed in THIS country, the UK has their own set of laws and they should be allowed to enforce them, that IS tolerant, no?

I am aware of internet lore…but here, I find LOL to be more a ‘look out, a liberal!’

England can and will do as it pleases yes…but its recent pleasures have hoisted upon a once great Empire Shar’ia Law; and a PC outlook that will have Brittania a third world entity in a generation or two.

Dr. Savage apprently is too truthful (internet radio transmissions going across the pond?) to the great unwashed British masses who are trying to keep their country.

Oh yes Savage is truthful, and loud, obnoxious, hateful and mostly incorrect…He’s had many instances of insannity like this stellar quote about autistic children

http://minx.cc/?post=269022

"In 99% of the cases, it’s a brat who hasn’t been told to cut the act out. That’s what autism is. What do you mean they scream and they’re silent?" Savage said last week in remarks that lit up the Internet over the weekend. "They don’t have a father around to tell them, ‘Don’t act like a moron. You’ll get nowhere in life. Stop acting like a putz.’"

And this quote coming from a conservative about savage pretty much sums it up…

In July 2005, Bernard Goldberg ranked Savage number 61 in his book 100 People Who Are Screwing Up America. Goldberg wrote that "Savage’s brand of over-the-top bile…puts him right in there with the angriest haters on the Left."[35]

Autism is an apple in the discussion; Shar’ia law an orange.  Are you really trying to imply England won’t permit Savage to their country based upon his theories on autism?  Or does Downing Street rule admittance based upon authors opines?  Bernie Goldberg should put on his future book jackets ‘read this, or no Britain for you!’  It makes no sense…PC is destroying the (once) Great Britain.

Oh ya…and then there is always that talking dog….you know the one that the Son Of Sam got his murder spree directives from…him too…put him on the list….

Let me tell you all something…you support this BS and one day the posts that you have penned right here will get your name on one as well….

"What someone will do with you, they will do to you".

oh please - a great many suicide and murder notes have invoked the name of jesus christ. just because a whack-job writes your name down or perverts your words to commit a crime does not equal "inciting" violence.

Too bad he can’t be banned to a solitary deserted island where no one can hear him except the one he adores the most.
