You know, I can respect all comments, but there are some over the top, it seem some are jealous. But is that so, Mrs. Obama have not tried to be no-one but herself. Jackie O, and Laura had their time, so it is time some that has a (nat) come to grips, Mrs. O, is going to be herself. She has never ask to be and fashion Icon, that was bestored upon her, she does it very well.
No Juanita…not jealous…not close. However, she is the one that hired a Hollywood stylist to do her make up and follow her whenever she travels…not quite the "down to earth" person that is sometimes portrayed….that is something that is fair game.
But if I could afford one…I’d have one too!
I love the official White House portrait, the cover with Oprah, and the picture of her and QEII arm and arm!
Mrs. Obama has great sense of fashion, and maybe she doesn’t hit the mark 100% of the time, who does?
I think she’s doing a great job so far!
But that wouldn’t fit the elitist attitude! They are millionaires and leaders of the free world (for the time being). They have to court Hollywood and magazine covers! It’s part of the celebrity worship that got him there!
And if anyone is entitled to an elitist attitude, it’s Michelle Obama. Why wouldn’t the best of the best feel good about it?
Ohhhhhhh Gramma….come on now…one must walk the walk if they wanna talk the talk.
Pizza flown in from Chicago? What do you think that cost per piece? That in itself is a slap in the face of those that are struggling.
A stylist to follow her around? How does that show respect for the common woman who she pretends to represent? No other first lady has has one.
Obama touts Green and tells us to do with less while he flys a plane to Iowa to make a speech on conserving energy. 91,000 gallons of fuel. The speech should have been given in Washington. But he doesn’t like to stay there much.
What did that inaguration cost us? How many MILLIONS?
Elitist attitude. Millionaires. Phonies both of them.
Kelly - The article posted at WOW is practically preaching to the choir. Most of the ladies here are almost simpering in their love of this new First Lady. Yet ….. is there really anything wrong with their attitude? There isn’t, is there. However, when the comments go so far as to e x a g g e r a t e the accomplishments of Mrs. Obama as compared to former First Ladies, then the love-in has to be brought back to reality. Your comments are very true but then many posters here might see them as letting the air of their balloon… and they might not like it. They just do not want to see the Obamas as elitists.
I’ve commented about the First Lady’s wardrobe on earlier threads. Phyllis responded with a comment similar to the one she made here …something along the line of who cares what she wears. And Phyllis is correct … up to a point. So, I will refrain from making any further remarks as to Mrs. Obama’s wardrobe…… at least until a future thread becomes so enamored of her choice of clothing that a touch of humor and/or realism is necessary.
Hi Kelly..
Actually MO needs a stylist to follow her around, although it does seem like a waste of money and time as it hasn’t improved her looks or style as of date! She definately has her own style (certainly not that of a first lady). Yep..phonies, I agree!
