Obama Administration Agrees With Bush: Valerie Plame Has No Case

Valerie Plame and Joe Wilson can’t revive suit against Bush officials, says Obama administration.

Valerie Plame and husband Joe Wilson find themselves in the news once again.

Plame, you’ll recall, was the CIA agent outed by Dick Cheney staffer Scooter Libby after Mr. Wilson, a U.S. ambassador, wrote an op-ed saying he found no evidence of yellow cake uranium in Iraq, a charge that directly contradicted the Bush administration’s claims that Saddam Hussein was building weapons of mass destruction.

Plame and Wilson filed a lawsuit against Cheney, Libby, Karl Rove and former Deputy Secretary of State Richard Armitage for violating their constitutional rights — not to mention endangering Plame’s life.

The Supreme Court dismissed the case, a move that pleased Bush officials, but the group Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington appealed for them to reconsider. Now CREW reports that the Obama administration opposes the effort, effectively saying that Plame and Wilson have no case against the former government officials.

CREW and Plame’s lawyers say that the Obama administration’s stance "cannot be reconciled with President Obama’s oft-stated commitment to once again make government officials accountable for their actions."

I disagree. The women should have her day in court with those dirtbags.

Now we know.  It’s not even a crime, much less treason, if the executive branch does it.  So much for the concept of rule by law.

If she hadn’t been on the cover of ‘vogue’ with her husband…(I think it was vogue) then she might have had a case.

Oh yeah Obama what about how many times we heard and still hear you say and commit to "make government officials accountable for their actions." Guess that goes for some and not other… Obviously nothing changed there and I thought you were for change….so as usual the government is not taking responsibilty for it’s actions and blaming someone else.

L. P- If that was true what you are saying, then what makes it okay for Obama’s administration to be full of tax evaders.  The double standard just constantly amazes me.  If he were for change he would never had nominated Geitner, Daschle, Bill Richardson, and not to mention why doesn’t he get the Rangel’s and Pelosi’s out of there??  It is the inconsistencies that I just can not get my head arouned.  The government just sucks, they all need to go and we some how need to start all over!  Obama was not for change from the very beginning and liberals just choose to overlook that.  I just don’t get the acceptance of this type of behavior.

L. P- I am sorry, my mistake!  I was reading and talking at the same time and I really do apologize for misunderstanding.  My lesson for the day is "Donot read and then reply to somebody when you are doing Anything else!"  A well learned lesson for me to practice!

LP and Deborah

You guys should really check out the CREW website.  They go after everyone.  They don’t always win, but they go after many.  Seems like they haven’t won that many in a while, but they go after them.

I wish Wow would do an article on CREW’s Executive Director Melanie Sloane.  Or maybe you did somewhere back in the past.  I am glad CREW is after Murtha and all his earmarks for airports and repaving auxillary air strips that aren’t even used but a few times a year.

I thought the Plame’s had a fair shot at their version of justice and the Supreme Court didn’t take the case.  They even made money from a book.  What is justice anymore?  congress has written laws that get around everything, and they are the ones that get away with it.

Plame deserves her day.  But the Supreme Court dismissed it.  End of story, and the President knows it.

Looks like Obama is morphing into Bush…..Let’s see, is it  George W. Obama or Barack W. Bush?

Matt Drudge has the George W. Obama composite photo…creepy. Yet surreal. Funny how so many of Bush’s policies are being adhered too…which begs the question, Hey Val…how is “Change” working out for you?”

Woody, it was just a matter of time before Barack Obama realized that George Bush did alot of things right.   He made some mistakes like every president but it certainly did many things correctly.   Obama is finding that out.    I can think of much worse things than morphing into Bush.

I think she was duped out of her day in court over this,  but if the Supreme Court have dismissed it then that’s an end to it.
