Obama Family Seeks Church Ahead of Easter

It’s been over a year since Barack Obama broke from his Chicago church over comments made by his then-reverend, Jeremiah Wright. Now, with Easter just days away, Mr. Obama and the First Family are looking for a house of worship.
The Washington Times reports that the White House has deployed friends, aides and other staffers to about a dozen churches around DC to find the right fit. And that fit isn’t simply denomination: the president will have to be sure his new church has no political drama, unlike Chicago’s Trinity United Church of Christ, where Reverend Wright made incendiary remarks that complicated Mr. Obama’s presidential campaign.
In addition to finding an uncomplicated pastor, the first family will also have to find a place willing to accommodate his security detail and subject other worshipers to, at the very least, frisking for weapons. We’re sure, however, that any church — and its parishioners — would be happy to welcome the first family.
Even if they don’t find a permanent place of worship, White House officials say the first family will likely attend Easter services at a local church, although did not give a specific location.
