Is Obama's hope for global denuclearization realistic?

President Obama is beginning to push for a nuclear-free future. Do you think this is a realistic goal?

The strongest, most effective, most threatening  terrorist weapon we have is our own fear and hatred.

There are SO many ways we all can be taken out.  If you focus on a "fiery end" your not living today.  Who the hell cares, if we all go, we go!  Dwelling on it won’t do any of us ANY good.  I applaud President Obama for everything he is "trying" to do.  It takes balls to tackle all of these horrible issues and try to make a difference.  We should all be giving him our support instead of betting against him.

Without the threats the world is under from manicacs around the globe, nuclear disarmament would not be a consideration - he’s moving onward with it, rightfully so. Now, if we could convince Texas Tech’s chancellor (Kent Hance — yes - a politico not an academic) to stop pushing the disposal of nuclear waste outside our back doors …

IMHO, that’s where the USA needs to put some leverage - stop ignorami from believing "waste" won’t wander.

Nukes are just weapons. More effective than others? Probably. They solve a lot of problems and create different ones. They seem like useful tools in our arsenal and I wouldn’t want to get rid of them, but I’d rather that other countries not have them.
