Olbermann Again Offers Money for Hannity Waterboarding, Says Fox Host Lacks Courage

By The Staff at wowOwow.com
MSNBC

Keith Olbermann again dared Fox News commentator — and rival — Sean Hannity to allow himself to be waterboarded.

In an effort to downplay the interrogation tactic, which most people regard as torture, Hannity two weeks ago said that he would allow himself to be waterboarded to prove that it’s harmless. Olbermann, who works for MSNBC, challenged Hannity and said he would donate $1,000 to military families for every second that Hannity endured.

Well, Hannity never offered himself, so Olbermann this week again challenged him to make good on his promise. Olbermann also called Hannity chicken, basically, "I don’t think he has the courage to even respond to this — let alone do it." Olbermann also admitted that professional competitiveness fueled his dare, reports The Huffington Post, but pointed out that he thinks Hannity’s assertions have influenced the debate and, therefore, he should make good on his promise.

No word on whether Hannity will accept Olbermann’s offer.

I KNOW people who HAVE been waterboarded as part of their training.   And, there are thousands I don’t know.   If we can train our own troops using this method of interrogation….and they obviously survived….

There are much worse forms of torture.   Waterboarding is a democratic obsession at the present time.

Do you really think that water-boarding in a training exercise is anything like the "real’ thing at the hands of an enemy interrogator?  I think you are very naive if you believe that.   The fact that you even say there are "worse" forms of torture is a worry as you are of the mindset that it’s alright to torture even though we as a country and even Bush had said we don’t torture but unfortunately that just sounded good he didn’t really mean it did he?

Well, caj p, I would certainly think so!   Why go to the trouble of training our troops if it’s not the real deal?   That would be a total waste of time.    The whole point of that type of interrogation is to push someone to their personal limit.

I believe that "interrogation methods" are extremely important.   How in the world do you think the CIA operates?   How do you think they obtain their information?

I suggest you ask John McCain he would be a credible person wouldn’t you say?   Interrogation is one thing we aren’t talking about that we are talking about torture and water-boarding has been labelled as such, many folks on the right who seem to think it’s not.  Don’t equate interrogation to torture they are entirely different and that’s what the Reps don’t want to admit they see it as one of the same and therefore nothing is wrong with it.

They don’t get it by waterboarding or torture.

caj p — "The fact that you even say there are worse forms of torture"  I’m afraid I’m going to get a little graphic here so you might not want to read this —

I guess I am of the mindset that YES there are worse forms!  If you are a man - well "two" are certainly  better than one or none at all.   That form of torture has been used against our troops in Iraq.   And, after they are removed they were stuffed in the mouths of the victims.  I certainly consider that a "worse" form.

Dismemberment of limbs - chopping off heads with dull knives — bodies being mutilated and drug through streets - 3,500 people burned to death because they were just Americans - and, if they weren’t burned to death - they jumped to their death.

These in my mindset are torture.  These in my mindset are torture for the families of all these victims.  Do two wrongs make a right, no, however, after all the hideous pictures, and reports, from all of the above stated cases, I personally don’t think waterboarding could equal to anything as vicious as the terrorists have inflicted on Americans.  If you had a family member who had to live through the thought of your loved one being tortured at the hands of these disgusting creeps, possibly it might change your mind.

Sorry if I’ve offended anyone — it’s a very personal issue for me and a very close to home issue!

Lady G, thanks for your post.   All of the attention that is being given to waterboarding, which hasn’t been used in six years and  no longer be used, is breathtaking!    The Democrats need to move on to something more important than their obsession to bring George Bush down to his knees.

Let’s see how Obama deals with this over the next 3 l/2 years.

deber b —- For the first time in my life, when I wake up each day I wonder "what is Axelrod planning for us today"?  What kind of spin is the "Master of Spinning" planning for this day?  He is the Master of Imaging - keep the "face" out there.  Keep his followers in line.  Whoops, those nasty "righties" keep on keepin’ on, gotta do something about that.  So let’s throw out the "torture" thingy and see how the polls react to that.  "We’ll keep on waterboarding until we get the numbers we want".  Just like he did when he went after Hillary.

The Dems on here keep saying to the "others" —"It’s time to move on" — they might want to try moving on also.

Axelrod is Obama’s mentor.   Everything that comes out of Obama’s mouth are Axelrod’s words.   Obama had zippo experience to bring to the White House and that’s where Axelrod comes in….with all of the answers.   Reminds me of the "Howdy Doody Show."

Torture if it is defined as such is exactly that, no matter how we may see it and it should not be performed on anyone it’s very simple!

I would like front row seats to watch that just to make sure it’s being done properly as would be done by "real " interrogators!!   Of course Mr Coward Hannity won’t do it as he has not got the guts to do it…like everything else he does he opens his mouth before his brain is engaged.  I wonder if his callers will still call him a ‘Great American" if he reneges on this offer he made earlier to do this for charity or will they call him a coward like he really is?
