Olbermann Fans Take on Karen Ignagni

The Internet can be used to rally myriad causes, but we’ve never heard of anything quite like this: Health Care for America Now, a grassroots organization pushing for health-care reform, has called on MSNBC host Keith Olbermann to name Karen Ignagni his "worst person in the world."

You see, Ignagni heads America’s Health Insurance Plans, which lobbies on behalf of health-insurance companies. According to HCAN, Ignagni’s using her influence to block potentially lifesaving legislation and, thus, deserves to be shamed on Olbermann’s popular "Countdown" news show.

From the HCAN website:

  • Ignagni has been lying to the American people for months. She’s been traveling around the country saying the health-insurance industry is working for real reform in good faith. However, AHIP has already come out against the heart of Obama’s health-care plan, the public health-insurance option.
  • AHIP has a history of bargaining in bad faith. AHIP’s predecessor organization ran the ‘Harry and Louise’ ads that killed Bill Clinton’s health-care reform efforts. They have spent $7 million on lobbying for their business interests in 2006, and will spend many times more than that this year.

In an effort to turn Ignagni, HCAN this week staged a protest outside of AHIP’s office, but, sadly for them, Ignagni failed to heed their calls for confrontation, so now they’re turning to the tube. And, apparently, the Internet.

Health Insurance Companies are ruining this country and our health and this woman IS "the worst person in the world" if she is lobbying for them.

Good for them. Now we’ll just have to sit back and see if their efforts pay off.

The Health Insurance is very busy trying to block substantial legislation that will take any $$ from their pockets.  Time to raise a little hell with them….

All those bankruptcies caused by medical bills… they are mostly people who HAVE health insurance! You obviously do not have a clue about the crisis out there… working people who do not have health insurance, below par coverage that people don’t even realize they have until they get sick and the insurance company starts denying payment, people with pre-existing conditions who can not get health insurance, people struggling to pay premiums that are as high as their mortgage payments, yet afraid to get sick because their lousy plan only covers a portion of the astronomical costs of health care in this country. At the very least you should limit your comments to subjects you have a clue about.

LOL, I thought the same thing.  MSNBC is changing the ratings scheme but how is it possible to have a minus ?  I used to watch it but it got so close to the edge of the flat earth and fell off…what an absolute failure.

I tried to post their ratings on another post, it didn’t work out well. Here they are. Libs can read them and weep. http://www.mediabistro.com/tvnewser/ratings/

"Libs" don’t measure ratings, they measure facts. Perhaps when you stop thinking that the ratings some FOX hack gets means what he/she is saying is even remotely true or intelligent, you will start being more selective about who you get your information from.

The insurance companies are the biggest money grabbers and have no interest in people’s care they are just interested in making big money. So this woman should be shown up for what she is an advocate of the greed machine ruining this country.
