Police Arrest Christopher Coleman in Slayings of Wife, 2 Young Boys
Could Christopher Coleman really have killed his beautiful wife and two young sons?
Illinois police certainly think so, and they arrested the 31-year-old Coleman Tuesday. He faces three counts of first degree murder and will appear in court today. The police have yet to find a motive for the murders.
The bodies of Sheri Coleman and the couple’s children, Garret, 11, and Gavin, 9, were found in their Columbia, IL, home on May 5. They were killed by strangulation via a cable or wire. Mr. Coleman told police he was working out at the gym when his family was murdered. But police have been collecting evidence since then, and he had been under police surveillance the last week. One key piece of evidence was a glove with red spray paint found along an interstate Christopher Coleman took to the gym. A similar color paint was used by the killer to write a message in the Coleman home. The message said something to the effect of, "I told you this would happen," reports The St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
A former Marine military police officer, Christopher Coleman recently resigned from his position with televangelist organization, Joyce Meyer Ministries. Police had looked into whether he had a girlfriend on the side.
