Rep. Bachmann Tries — and Fails — to Pin Swine Flu on Democrats (Video)

Rep. Michele Bachmann made quite the mistake yesterday when she said she finds it "interesting" that Democrats have been in power during both this and the 1970s outbreak of swine flu.

Said the Republican in a Pajamas TV interview: "I find it interesting that it was back in the 1970s that the swine flu broke out then under another Democrat President Jimmy Carter. And I’m not blaming this on President Obama, I just think it’s an interesting coincidence."

Unfortunately for her, Bachmann’s entirely wrong. As City Pages points out, Republican Gerald Ford was in power when swine flu first broke out in 1976. Of course, Bachmann isn’t the only right-wing enthusiast trying to blame Democrats for the virus: radio host Rush Limbaugh suggested this week that President Obama sparked the pandemic — and caused the earthquake in Mexico.

I think it is off the wall stupid that anyone would think that Obama had anything to do with the swine flu but then again I heard some blame Bush for Katrina, the actual hurricane, saying Bush did it…Guess its easier to blame someone then noone…

I don’t think anyone blamed Bush for Katrina they blamed him for his inept actions when it did happen and rightly so.

You know I watched a movie that came on HBO over the weekend where it was a video account of a family who survived Katrina.  They used their own personal video camera to record from 2 days before until about a year after Katrina.  It was very interesting to say the least.  Those on the video living through it were more mad at their own Mayor and Governor then Bush…and these were people living in the worst part of NO that got hit…They had to go to their attic and then one of their neighbors a local drug dealer used his punching bag and was going around from house to house getting the elderly out & the young kids b/c his house on the top floor wasnt flooded…he said on tape, "imagine GOD using someone like me to help others when I have spent most of my life hating others"…it was very humbling for him.  Yes I went off subject…Sorry

You know, I’m thinking Tina Fey could easily become Michelle, too.   This is great fodder for SNL.

Maggie is spot on…perfect for SNL.  Her mind, where did it go?  And, who voted for her?  And, why oh why?

The woman is such a loon!  I don’t understand how anyone can defend her.  The things that come out of her mouth are unbelievable!  Yet, this woman is "feared" because of her insight and leadership!  Yeah, right!!!  She’s feared all right.  She’s feared because she might inspire mentally unstable crazies to take radical action!

Hearing voices in your head shouldn’t be mistaken for insight.  What state is this moronic twit from, and what are the people who voted for her like?  Geez, I felt bad because of Mike Pence (why shucks, walkin’ in Bagdad is just like bein’ at a market in Indiana! cept for the soldiers ‘n flak jackets ‘n all…..) and what a dimwitted jackass he is, but she makes him look downright smart!

Geez, I hope Minnesotans get rid of this crackpot as soon as they have the opportunity.  I can’t figure out if she says these things merely for the attention, or because she idolizes Limbaugh and everything he stands for, or if she is just truly off her rocker.

My vote is for "truly off her rocker"
