Rep. Maxine Waters in Hot Water Again Over Family Business

Rep. Maxine Waters is once again under scrutiny for her family ties.
The California Democrat lent $25,000 to a nonprofit run by her daughter, Karen Waters, via her reelection campaign fund, Politico reports. The funds were used to pay for the nonprofit’s Democratic National Convention activities in Denver, which may have included a gala at the Temple Hoyne Buell Theatre.
Not only does Rep. Waters’s daughter run the organization African-American Committee 2000 and Beyond, but the congresswoman herself sits on the board, and husband Sidney Williams has served as director. Even if the loan’s completely legal, it still doesn’t bode well for Waters in light of heat she’s taken through the years for using her alleged political clout and name to benefit her family. Waters has at least twice been named to the Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington’s most corrupt members of Congress list.
The 70-year-old congresswoman came under fire from federal regulators earlier this month when they questioned her ties to OneUnited Bank, which she helped with a bailout. Waters failed to disclose to Treasury officials that her husband, Sidney, once served on the bank’s board.

Right. It’s racism. It has nothing whatsoever to do with the fact that she’s utterly corrupt and incompetent. Let’s not forget that this is the same moron who was praising the "brilliant" leadership of Franklin Raines, right before the world realized his "brilliant" leadership was one of the worst disasters in history. This is the same woman who freaks out so badly that she embarrasses her own — not to mention that she’s screaming at people for doing exactly what she did. The list goes on and on. But, of course, you’re absolutely right — it’s all racism. Please!
When all else fails, cry foul to avoid the issues…
Waters doesn’t think BO is doing a good job. What do you say now, Belinda???
correction——-woman —-not women.
And so the topic was changed from this congresswoman’s possible misbehavior to the indentity of a poster. Marvelous.
Getting back on topic, give us all a break, LC. All of the stuff in your post may very well be true, and it STILL won’t make unethical and/or illegal behavior acceptable.
