Mitt Romney Blasts Obama | 04/21/2009 9:05 am

Romney Blasts Obama on Foreign Policy: 'A Timid Advocate of Freedom'

Mitt Romney, the former Governor of Michigan who ran for the Republican presidential nomination last year, penned a scathing review of Barack Obama’s foreign policy approach, which he described as "timid." As part of his analysis, Romney hones in on the president’s appearance at the Summit of the Americas this weekend, where Mr. Obama apparently "acquiesced to a 50-minute attack on America as terroristic, expansionist, and interventionist from Nicaraguan president Daniel Ortega." Romney also pointed out that the president offered his first post-inauguration interview to an Arabic television network and blasted him for not doing enough to deter North Korea, which last month launched a long-range missile. He does not point out, however, that the missile failed and crashed into the ocean.

Toward the end of his article, Romney uses Vice-President Joe Biden’s campaign rhetoric against the Commander-in-Chief. Via The National Review Online:

Vice President Biden was right that the new president would be tested early in his administration. What the world learned was not good news for freedom and democracy. The leader of the free world has been a timid advocate of freedom at best. And bold action to blunt the advances of tyrants has been wholly lacking. We are still very early in the Obama years — the president will have ample opportunity to defend America and freedom, and to deter nuclear brinkmanship. I am hoping for change.

What do you think, readers, should the president take a harsher stand on people who express anti-Americanism, or sit side-by-side with them and attempt a dialogue?

Rudi, I agree! I subscribe to the Anchorage Daily News online, and I can tell you just by the comments Alaskans post, Palin will be lucky if she wins the Governor’s race in 2010, let alone get the nomination for President in 2012. She sunk her own ship.

You subscribe???  All you have to do is go to adn.com…not like you actually have to have a subscription????  I hardly think the comments section is a true reflection of the entire population.  Especially when more than one resident has indicated the a huge amount of the comments on stories are coming from haters on the lower 48 rather than from actually voting residents.

Or is that what you mean by being a "subscriber…you are one of them?

Sorry, S.J.  As an ex-mormon I totally disagree. Religion will be a very big concern when it comes to Romney. And your comment about a "…society hell bent on electing a Black or at least mostly black man…" strikes as rather racist. I’m white and I did not vote for Obama because I was "hell bent on electing a black man". I voted for the most intelligent choice. McCain-Palin just wasn’t that choice.

Nanny..I’m not a racist.  I welcome a Black man/woman as President I just did not think Obama was the one.  But many saw Obama ( and history proves correct) that it would take a superior candidate to defeat him.

Romney is not so old that he could wait  a few years…McCain could not….this was hid last hurrah!.

that statement was entirely racist. "a Republican cannot win against a society hell bent on electing a Black or at least  mostly black man"?

if it’s not racist, you basically implied the country itself is racist and stupid ,because they only voted based on his skin and looks rather than what he stood for.

sounds like to solve your problem, you just need to find a black republican to run… then the country will vote for the black guy. right?

SJ Morgan…so true. Palin scared the hell out of them. I especially loved the look on the faces of the media after her first speech. Then the ugly pack tore into her when they heard the ding ding ding of Pavlov’s bell. Poor woman didn’t have a chance…but she sure put the fear into the big boys…..she deserve much respect, for many reasons.

Obama had a lock considering his was black and running against McCain. Game over. I do agree that Romney has the experience and self control to guide this Nation. He has actually been something more than a community organizer…

The tide is already turning…if Obama backs his mouth up and goes forward with this torture crap…it’s over with. But he won’t…he just needs his supporters to get riled up….

Well, now, Mitt Romney isn’t the only one saying this…he is only one voice.   Obama’s Apology Tour 09 is an embarrassment to many Americans.   We should always lead from a position of strength and confidence.
