Rove, Miers to Testify on Bush Justice Dept

Here’s something we never thought we’d see: Karl Rove and former White House attorney Harriet Miers have agreed to testify on the Bush administration’s allegedly politically motivated firing of nine federal prosecutors.
All right, "agreed" may be too generous a word, for Rove had previously refused, citing "executive privilege." That argument didn’t fly with Obama officials, who insisted the duo testify without immunity. After weeks of debate, all sides have come to an agreement. Via the The Washington Post:
Under the terms of the deal, former presidential adviser Rove and former White House lawyer Miers will testify before the House Judiciary Committee in transcribed interviews, under penalty of perjury, but without cameras, reporters or members of the public in attendance. The transcripts eventually will be published, the agreement said.
The settlement gives the Judiciary Committee access to long-sought internal documents prepared by the Bush White House and the Justice Department from December 2004 through March 2007 about the politically explosive firing of the nine prosecutors.
Rove’s lawyer insisted his client "looks forward" to answering prosecutors’ inquiries. Rove, however, took a less congenial stance this morning, when he told Fox News that the hearings amount to a "show trial" and the Democrats want to see him "barbecued."

Here’s what Karl Rove said on March 8, 2007: "these attorneys serve at the pleasure of the president and traditionally are given a four-year term. And, Clinton, when he came in, replaced all 93 U. S. attorneys."
Obviously, it was okay for Clinton but not for Bush. I see nothing wrong with Bush replacing eight attorneys. "When it comes to "politicizing" justice, the Bush White House is full of amateurs compared to the Clintons."
Should be a walk in the park.
It is typical for CHILDREN to make attempt to excuse themselves, when they get caught doing something they knew they shouldn;t do….by using the ”’well johnny did it first!”’
An adult, who has come to know responsibility and maturity, however, recognizes that what other people do, does not excuse what they themselves chose to do….
What you all seem to misunderstand ( although not surpising is) that ROVE is not on trila here. He is a witness only and it has been agreed that he Rove and Miers will testify, but they won’t have to answer questions about President Bush.
You you can put your dreams of him in prison clothes in the garbage!

This issue really fires people up, because it’s about first principles. The right to vote, in private, should not be tampered with.
