Sarah Palin: Ethics Allegations Are 'Bull Crap,' But 'I Am a Fighter'

Palin decries the ‘politics of personal destruction,’ blasts Obama and Republican Party; don’t count her out of a political future.

Sarah Palin is showing the world that no matter how much people try to keep her down, she’s going to come out swinging every time.

Speaking to reporters in Alaska for the first time after announcing her shocking resignation, to take effect later this month, the Alaska governor told FOX News that her family and state has had to spend far too much money defending her from "bull crap" ethics allegations, and that it’s just too much of a distraction for the people of Alaska. She said President Obama is taking the country in the wrong direction, that "obsessive partisanship" has hurt the Republican Party and that she was treated differently than most political candidates during her vice-presidential run with John McCain — especially when it came to her children.

"Most candidates, most public officials get to look into a camera and say, ‘You better leave your hands off my kids,’" she said. "Well I haven’t been able to say that. And that double standard that’s been applied, that’s been a little bit frustrating."

Palin’s lawyer told CNN that although no big personal scandal contributed to her resignation, controversial jokes by late-night talk-show host David Letterman contributed to her decision to step down. As to what Palin’s future holds, she stayed mum on that — even speculation about a 2012 presidential run — but said she’s "not a quitter. I am a fighter." She didn’t rule anything out.

Palin told the Anchorage Daily News:

It’s a combination of things that has brought me to this place of knowing. I love Alaskans too much to put them through a lame duck session heading into my final year in office; I was going to be honest and tell them I’m not going to run for re-election. I’m not going to let Alaskans go through a year of stymied, paralyzed administration and not getting anything done.

When asked several times by NBC’s Andrea Mitchell how she responds to people who say she’s letting Alaska down by not finishing her term, the governor forcefully said, "You’re not listening to me!"

The Washington Post reports on how Palin’s online "army" isn’t discouraged by her resignation, and how they describe her treatment by the mainstream media as "savage."

Conclusion of this latest Sarah Palin story? We haven’t seen the last of her on the political scene!

Conservative columnist Ann Coulter explains Palin’s exit for wOw here. Our own Margo Howard agrees with Coulter that Palin is now just too big for Alaska.

"and arrogant loser?"  He won.  And thank God for that.

You know, "loser" in the real world. Someone "winning" the lottery does not make them a winner at life. Winning a presidential elections does not make him a winner in anything other than a presidential election.

That’s true enough.  Yet President Obama is overall a winner.  And I understand you just can’t stand that.

No, what you can’t understand is that not everyone shares your opinion of Obama. There are those of us who see him for what he really is. Unfortunately, there are those of you who don’t—that’s what I "can’t stand".

I understand very well that not everyone shares my opinion about President Obama.  And that those who don’t, can’t stand it. Hopefully you’ll have many years to adjust.

Speaking of inappropriate dressing of your children…check out Malia on her trip.  She is representing the USA..this is not a vacation.

What could POSSIBLY be INAPPROPRIATE about an 11 year old kid wearing a t-shirt with a PEACE sign on it????????? Maybe they were on some free time, or perhaps they wanted to actually take a little break and have some fun together, or maybe she believed she was just being a kid and enjoying the day with mom, who was wearing (GASP!) a sundress!! The nerve! Showing her shoulders! And in PUBLIC! (sigh) This is without a doubt, one of the most stupid observations I’ve come across in this thread thus far.DO you work for the Fashion Police? Do you get off on criticizing kids clothing? Oh Wait…this is Obama’s children, so this must be sticks-and-stones time on the playground right?

Malia is not representing the US, she’s a kid. And dare I ask what should she be wearing….pearls and chiffon? If the eldest Palin daughter wore the same shirt and shorts you’d be praising to the high heaven’s and oceans would part. This is beyond really pathetic….lol…..it’s is such a stretch into the twilight zone I’m starting to get a little nauseated…dress your kids your way, and let Michelle and Sarah and all the other mother’s dress their kids dress the way they would like.

I’ve never seen someone run their mouth so much about inconsequential things as you do, dear…you criticize everyone and everything…no matter who or what it is. How do you so easily pass judgement on SO MANY people without coming up for air once in a while?

 City Slickers in Alaska Bush…

Long Alaska day too much for campers from Outside

The midnight twilight turned out to be too much for a couple of out-of-state visitors who wanted to be rescued after spending a single night in the Bush this month, Alaska State Troopers said Wednesday

Troopers say they got a report of an emergency locator beacon registered to Washington, D.C., resident William Calomiris, 27, that was activated near Pungokepuk Lake, 20 miles northeast of Twin Hills, about 8:30 p.m. July 1. An air taxi service had dropped him and Adam Grunstra, also 27, of Bethesda, Md., off at the lake on June 30 for a seven-day stay, troopers said.

Troopers alerted the Alaska Air National Guard, the U.S. Coast Guard and then diverted their own Dillingham-based floatplane that was in the area to head to the scene and check things out.

The floatplane touched down about 10:30 p.m. to find there was no emergency. A day in the wilds had just taken its toll and the men were ready to leave, troopers said.

"Calomiris and Grunstra claimed that they had been sunburned," troopers wrote in a dispatch. "They were unprepared to deal with the long day length and any further exposure to the sun. They had activated the beacon in an effort to get extracted ahead of schedule."

Troopers passed a message to the air taxi service in Dillingham that the men were requesting an early departure and told them to wait at the pickup point, where they were recovered the next day, troopers said.

PS to all the whiners who cry about not "playing fair": GROW UP. This is the real world, and in the real world life is brutal, and those tough enough to hang in will make it through because of their thick skin…they let things slide off their back, and go to work. Can all the crap about how unfair everyone is to poor little Palin. Is she REALLY so FRAIL that she can’t handle herself in the proverbial kitchen without pouting about some Monster in the Evil Press Brigade calling her uneducated or inexperienced, or whatever the latest stone is that’s being thrown her way?

If she were tougher I would have voted GOP in a HEARTBEAT! And not because of HER, but, as a registered Democrat, I happen to have thought John McCain was more qualified to be President. I liked him a lot-he’s smart, educated, and quite articulate! But then he brought Sarah on board…Sarah with her "You BETCHA" and the wink and a thumbs up thing, the "beer drinkers of America Unite-you have nothing to lose but your wife beaters!", and talking like some valley girl at the prom…she lost me the moment she opened that inarticulate mouth of hers…and so, sadly enough, did Mr. McCain. That was the case for MOST people who ended up voting for Obama. People were terrified of her possible having the chance of taking over the country and turning it into some banjo playing Deliverence White House.

I find that interesting that you think she was inferior to Joe Biden???  Since she was running against Joe rather than Obama??He has an inarticulate mouth as well.  Your comments seem to indicate it more a "class bias"…or maybe because she does not talk like you?  Do accents scare you?

When did Sarah ever say "beer drinkers of America Unite-you have nothing to lose but your wife beaters"…is that your quote???  or was that another one of Tina Fey’s sayings?

So if a person has no common sense but is from certain part of the country or speaks with pearls in their mouths that makes them better???  …the Deliverance reference is disgusting.

Class bigotry is no different the the racial form……Dems are always championing to level the playing field for the less advantaged…so what are you putting her down for not receiving the same education you and others did.??  Are you saying they need help but are in the end less deserving?

COMMON SENSE goes alot farther to MOST Americans!…all the private education in the world cannot teach that.

It’s interesting how you just project explanations onto others and then rip them apart.  You have no evidence of bigotry here.  Perhaps Sarah’s ineptitude it all there is to it.  It was certainlly enough for me.

As for myself I absolutely think she is inferior to Joe Biden- and yes I know he often mispeaks.  Even so.  She is inferior IMO. And certainly she has NO commen sense.  If she had that she would have headed to the hospital when her water broke with Trig instead of boarding an aircraft.
