Sarah Palin Jumps Into Foreign Policy Fray With North Korea Statement

Sarah Palin means business when it comes to North Korea. The Alaska governor released a statement yesterday admonishing the isolated nation for testing a long-range missile launcher over the weekend.
From the governor’s office:
I am deeply concerned with North Korea’s development and testing program, which has clear potential of impacting Alaska, a sovereign state of the United States, with a potentially nuclear armed warhead. I can’t emphasize enough how important it is that we continue to develop and perfect the global missile defense network. Alaska’s strategic location and the system in place here have proven invaluable in defending the nation.
Of course, Palin failed to mention that the test was deemed a failure by international agencies.
Palin also used her press statement to blast Defense Secretary Robert Gates’s plan to cut the budget for missile-defense programs, which, Palin insists, are integral to national security. And she knows all about national security. She can, after all, see Russia from her house.

Maybe you missed this part?
Thanks — and you’re absolutely right: they would be the first to scream, "WHY WASN’T PALIN LOOKING OUT FOR HER OWN STATE??" I can just hear them ranting about "If only she had been more focused on Alaska, instead of running for president in 2012!"
Also, in case you’re listening (or care…), WOW, Palin never said that she could see Alaska from her house…that was Tina Fey. You might, just *might*, want to hide you’re anti-Palin bias a little better; I mean, at least twist her own words in your crusade against her, but don’t stoop to quoting an entertainer-impersonator’s as hers…
"Palin never said that she could see Alaska from her house …"
Uh? She lives in Alaska. Her house is in Alaska, so yes you can see her house in Alaska. I think you meant, "Palin never said that she could see Russia from her house".
Have a good day :-)
Amedee: …she mentioned that we share air space.
Don’t we? We have cyberspies from China and Russia circling our airspace constantly. North Korea probably wants to add to their ideas to the mischief. Every governor in the US is or should be concerned.
Rachel, thank you for pointing out the obvious. Any North Korean nuke can hit Alaska. But that point is over looked in the Palin Derangement Syndrome frenzy that must occur, here on WOW, when any Palin reference occurs.
By the way…great restraint with not commenting on the ‘How dare she…’ Dare she what? Speak out about the dangers that potentially could occur to Alaska should the North Koreans ‘learn to shoot straight.’ PDS!!!
