Sarah Palin Praises Michael Steele, Slams President Obama

Sarah Palin minced no words in criticizing Barack Obama this week.

In a statement on the government’s meddling in the auto industry, Palin claimed the President’s "change" amounts to nothing more than "actions that will lead to a monumental shift away from free market capitalism and the strong work ethic that built this great country."

While Palin may have no love for President Obama, she definitely sees something in Michael Steele, the chairman of the Republican National Committee. Steele, says Palin, represents a new voice in Washington, and one that will fight for Alaskan — and, we’re assuming, American — ideals. Via Politico:

We have another voice in Washington, DC — a man who understands what Alaskans believe: less centralized government control, restrained budgets, more opportunity for development, and fewer taxes. Today, we have a friend in RNC Chairman Michael Steele and his bold and courageous speech defines his leadership goals that will guide us all through this most difficult time for our nation.

Steele isn’t necessarily adored by all of his party peers, but he’s promising them that he’ll lead the party back to the top. Addressing a crowd in DC yesterday, Steele insisted, "Our comeback is well underway out in the states, I can assure you of that!"

She’s still around?  Amazing—I’d have thought they’d impeached her in Alaska by now.

This man is a joke. He is an embarrassment to many Republicans, but he certainly is colorful. Here he is talking about climate change:

We are cooling. We are not warming. The warming you see out there, the supposed warming, and I am using my finger quotation marks here, is part of the cooling process. Greenland, which is now covered in ice, it was once called Greenland for a reason, right? Iceland, which is now green. Oh I love this. Like we know what this planet is all about. How long have we been here? How long? No very long.

Now, I ask you, this is the kind of mind you want to represent your party? Yikes!

"but he certainly is colorful"……is that a racist comment?   If that was said about Obama I’m sure that would be the whine of the week!

Oh, for heaven’s sake––of course it’s not a racist comment. How petty.

I think there may be some racism here. Are you being a racist?  I think Michael Steele deserved a little more respect here.

Ya Ya Ya - now for some real words.  Everyone knows the only reason any democrat gets elected is because the news (agenda) that most ignorant people listen to is controlled by the democrats hiding behind the freedom of the press, posing as journalists, and is not the truth.

Look, if any non-democrat politician spoke with a stutter like Uhbama, the media (democrats hiding behind freedom of the press posing as journalists) would never let us forget it.  Uhbama has to have teleprompters because he can’t say a sentence without using uh a couple of times.

And how come you all are ignoring the liar Pelosi?  All you dems have to proud of that stumbling idiot.

Original…you are spot on about the media, perfectly said….funny how pelosi is suddenly out of the news….have to bring in Gov. Palin to add the smoke to the screen.  Great post, and thank you.

Don’t see a ‘slam’ here…just an honest interpretation of capitalism. Sarah Palin believes that government take-over of the private sector is a ‘slam’ on the ability of Americans to handle their own business. Obama means well, but American business is not the governments to take. It is ours…to succeed or fail and constitutionally…I thought it was clear that government NOT interfere with private business…Correct me if I’m wrong…Contitutionalists?

I think we should change the name of General Motors to Government Motors at this point.

We need a more active and intelligent government to keep our model of a capitalist economy from running off the rails. This system failed us––we need an overhaul.  Your assessment above of government’s involvement is puzzling. If it wasn’t for our government bailing out all the screw-ups we’d all be in a depression (some say that we are) like we’ve never seen. If we’ve learned anything, we’ve learned we need plenty of WATCH DOGS.  As far as the Constitutional aspect of this there isn’t any kind of mandate that I know of.

Is this the same Michael Steelle who just recently said the GOP was already turning itself around and making rebound progress but couldn’t explain what that meant?

As for Sarah, I am impressed . Very much so. She came up with

" capitalism", and that’s more than two syllables.  She’s coming along nicely.
