Sarah Palin Strikes Back at Levi Johnston's Appearance on Tyra Banks Show

Levi Johnston’s appearance on Tyra Banks’ show today has, not surprisingly, drawn a harsh reply from Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, his former future mother-in-law.

While sitting on Tyra’s couch, Levi confesses that he’s "pretty sure" that Bristol’s mom knew there was hanky-panky going on between the teen couple, and that they practiced safe sex "most of the time." Levi’s sister also complains to Tyra that the Johnston family wasn’t allowed in the hospital when their child, Tripp was born, and she also complains that Levi was forced to go to the Republican convention when he would rather have been hunting. "It’s time we get that story out there," he said.

Getting that story out did not sit well with the Palin camp, whose family rep, Meghan Stapleton, released the following statement:

Bristol did not even know Levi was going on the show. We’re disappointed that Levi and his family, in a quest for fame, attention, and fortune, are engaging in flat-out lies, gross exaggeration, and even distortion of their relationship. Bristol’s focus will remain on raising Tripp, completing her education, and advocating abstinence. It is unfortunate that Levi finds it more appealing to exploit his previous relationship with Bristol than to contribute to the well-being of the child.

The statement ends, saying, "Bristol realizes now that she made a mistake in her relationship and is the one taking responsibility for their actions."

We are eager to see what the Hatfields, er the Johnstons, have to say to that.

I love Sarah Palin!   As a mother and a grandmother, she voiced her disapproval of Levi putting tabloid information on national TV for the world to hear.   He has cheapened himself in such a way that he appears to give the phrase "the scorned woman….which can now be "hell hath no fury as a scorned man."

Keep it up Levi so that your 15 minutes of fame will only appear in your scrap book.

How unfortunate for his son that his father has chosen the low road…a familiar road he frequents lately.

I know many last week were bashing Gov. Palin for letting them sleep in the same room….if anyone could believe that was even true is laughable….it was a flat out lie by Levi along with many of the things he and his family are telling tyra….he must have been given quite a check for his appearance…hopefully it will pay for the child support towards Tripp!!!  And for him rather to be hunting….right….he loved all the spot light he received during the RNC, hunting was his least interest at the time….what a joke…and how sad this family is out to trash the Palin family who are caring for his son!

Agreed. Of course, if you *want* to believe, you will, no matter how absurd.

Oh, and does it strike you as funny that a *certain* crowd is only to willing and eager to take the word of someone arrested for intent to distribute drugs (who they were only to eager to scream about a little while earlier) as absolute gospel because now she’s bashing the Palins? Imagine if someone like Levi’s mother and his sister (who can’t seem to stay away from spreading trash to tabloids) were bashing, say, Obama…do you think, for one minute, they would consider anything they said as remotely true? Of course not.

It’s clear that if something similar happened to the Obamas, the right wing would give them all the criticism they needed, and then some.

Of course. I love how libs justify behaving outrageously by "Well, Republicans would do it if they had the chance!" … even though we don’t when we do…

In the comments on this site, Gops have suggested that Obama is both a liberal socialist, a rightwing fascist and a terrorist sympathizer, that he has hidden his true identity, that he was not born in the United States, that he cheated his way through college and that he can’t speak without a teleprompter, even though he has spoken extemporaneously during hundreds of hours of town hall meetings during the campaign, the debates and, most recently, in France.

In the 1990s — egged on by the corporate media — Republicans wasted millions of taxpayer dollars investigating the Clintons, including even their cat, Socks. Ken Starr spent $60 million and all he came up with was perjury in a civil deposition in a lawsuit over something that happened before he was president. Clinton-bashing as pundits on MSNBC created the careers of Ann Coulter, Laura Ingraham and the late Barbara Olson, all three of whom were unrestrained in their personal  criticisms of the president and the first lady.  Rush Limbaugh referred to Chelsea, age 13, as the "White House dog."

Liberals are slowly learning how to do what conservatives had made an art. It is not surprising conservatives don’t like it.

Rudi G.- Once again here you are trying to defend  liberals for being Idiots.  Just keep on going, it really is a laugh a minute.  Lets just play Gotcha!  forever, it is so grown up and flattering too!  Cool!  This concept regarding "Liberals are slowly learning how to do what conservatives had made an art".  WHAT IN THE HECK ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?????  If it were true, which it is absolutely Not, then what you are condoning is, 2 wrongs make it okay, or they did it so we’re going to do it.  Sound ridiculous?  That may be, BECAUSE IT IS!!  You say the liberals are just now learning?  Yeah. right- What about Bush bashing from day one and his daughters? This topic regarding  Levi’s family views, is absoluting not important!  It is a sick young man who is trying to make a profit off of his own child, it makes me cringe.  I believe we could all agree that the trash that goes around about both parties, is equal in hate and untruthfulness.  It is so sad the crap people spew!  If that were really true about the Demos just learning "this new art"  it would definitely be an opportunity to stand up and say we will not behave in such a way.  Talk about winning votes, but see, they can’t do that because they also play this sick game that we have all become a part of.  Besides that, alot of people make money from trash and I am sure the Johnston family is making it also.  Big time money, this was So Predictable that this would happen.  I told my husband that back when they were campaigning.  It is Both Sides, Always Has Been and Always Will Be!  You are so wrong!

It is revisionist history to say that Bush bashing began on day one. Criticism of Dear Leader was verbotten until after Katrina. It got so bad that speaking negatively about Bush during the run up to the invasion of Iraq was labeled as anti-American. If you criticize Bush, liberals were told, it means you hate America.

If criticizing Bush was equivalent to hating America, what is criticizing Obama?

Rudi G. You are So entertaining!  At least I will go to sleep with a smile on my face.  I guess you have conveniently forgotten about just the election itself???  Remember?  He is not my President, he stole the election!  I’m moving to a different country (our wonderful Hollywoodies talking, I just wish they would have ALL left)  He’s a drunk and wasn’t it just awesome what the previous, professionals that they were, Clinton administration did.  To destroy Anything in Our White House should have been a crime.  Yeah, Bush had such a fair deal from the beginning.  It is amazing how short our memories can be when we don’t want to look at unacceptable behavior!  Last but not least, the only place I ever heard that crap about not being American if you criticized Bush was from the typical left wingers and the usual liberal press and liberal T.V. stations.  It is Bull!  It absolutely definitely started, actually BEFORE day one.  The garbage was sick.  Maybe you did not live in the U.S. during the election and afterwards.  Deborah K

Why, Thank You very much Rudi!  You made me smile 2 days in a row, that is a record, especially for somebody I don’t even know!  Although, I suspect you do not think I am funny at all, but hey, being oblvious is sometimes pure bliss!  Thank you again you humorous man and you are still wrong about the  Bush bashing!  Had to get that in.  Deborah

I believe most of the criticism of Obama is of his politics.

Rachel wish to have snarky conversations avoid starting them.  No one said anything about the Palin situation until you characterized an ‘imaginary’ response from a *certain* group.  Actually, no one knows the facts of the Palin/Johnson relationship or the fallout thereof, so I think it best that we all move along beyond the gossip and innuendo. Wouldn’t you agree?

Peace and grace
