DNC 'Survivor' Ad Pokes Fun at Republican Party (Video)

In the wake of Arlen Specter’s party shift, is the Democratic Party feeling the slightest bit overconfident?
A new video parodying the hit reality television show "Survivor" — and sponsored by the Democratic National Committee — insists the Republican Party is in need of a leader, or members may continue to leave their island.
The ad starts off with a quote from Maine Sen. Olympia Snowe, who likened moderate Republicans to participants on "Survivor" — the same contestants who ostracize fellow members and cast them off. "Being a Republican moderate sometimes feels like being a cast member
of ‘Survivor’ — you are presented with multiple challenges, and you
often get the distinct feeling that you’re no longer welcome in the
tribe," Snowe wrote in an op-ed for The New York Times.
The video goes through 16 Republicans competing to win "the heart and soul of the GOP." The 16 Republicans include:
Mitt Romney, John Boehner, Sarah Palin, Karl Rove, Mark Sanford, Jeb Bush, Eric Cantor, John McCain, Bobby Jindal, John Cornyn, Mike Huckabee, Dick Cheney, Mitch McConnell, Michael Steele, Newt Gingrich and Rush Limbaugh.
"Outwit. Outplay. Outlast. Survivor: GOP Edition" even has the iconic "Survivor" jingle, emblem and exotic wildlife …

LG…or on Wow… :-)
I apologize if this is a double post:
You gotta love the DNC. They are either very afraid of the RNC, or are eager to celebrate their demise. True, the RNC is in a reorganizing time now, but they are definitely NOT out. What would be a more fitting parody would be Obama’s cabinet on "The Fear Factor". The constant attacks are making the RNC stronger. Keep it up!
The "respect for others" part is where the Republican party failed miserably. I was proud of the Democrats when they didn’t stoop to such shoddy behavior. I feel very, very let down right now. If the Democrats are going to become the same kind of name-calling twits the Republican party is full of, it’s way past time for a third party to come forward.
When the party walked away from the principles that made it great (umm, that would be conservatism) it began to LOSE!

Bingo! you nailed it. That’s exactly where the Rep’s went wrong. But, they will get their groove back!
Wow or should I say wowOwow!
The democrat party is more out of touch than I thought!
They talk about the shrinking number of folks who claim themselves Republican, which BTW, is 28 percent, not 21, as they falsely claim, but conveniently leave out the fact that the number who claim to be democrat is only 31 percent. The truth is, most people are disgusted with both parties, and the trend is moving toward people self identifying as indies.
Anybody who actually paid attention to the tea parties knows that there were just about as many democrats out there as Republicans. And no matter which party they were from, they were equally disgusted with both parties.
I’m a conservative first, and a Republican second. The only reason I’m a Republican, is because it’s the only party that even comes close to what I believe in. But the party has strayed so far from what it used to be, it’s hard to tell the difference between them and the liberal democrats.
Conservatism works every time it’s tried. But the country club, blue blood RINOs will never get it. You’d have thought that Ronald Reagan’s two record setting landslide victories would have taught them something, but nope!
You’d have thought the fact that people were indifferent to super RINO John McCain, until he chose Sarah Palin, would have taught them.
But nope, the RINOs are too busy trying to be democrat lite! This was the thinking after 1932 that kept the liberal democrats in power for 40 years in Congress.
We need to go back to basic conservative principals in this country. The entire nation would thrive. Conservatism works for everyone. Conservatism is about optimism, not the blame America first crap you get out of liberals.
Anyhow, I love the picks the DNC chose for their spoof.
Rush is indeed the concience of the party, now that Reagan is gone. Few can articulate the message of eternal optimism, love of country, and the wish for ALL Americans to succeed to the fullest extent of their abilities.
Anyone who saw his speech at CPAC this year knows exactly what I am talking about. The speech is available at Rush Limbaugh.com, and is a must watch if you love America.
Sarah Palin is the the best equipped to lead the party and the nation though. Rush is not a politician, and understands his role in our movement. As he always says, keeping the world’s largest radio audience, and governing, are two different things.
Palin enjoys the same status as Ronald Reagan, just before he became President. She’s the only one out there who clearly, and concisely articulates the real, true conservative message. She’s also the only one who is walking the walk, not just talking the talk.
In fact, it’s amazing how the current situation matches up with the 1976-1980 period in history.
Reagan ran in the Primary against Jerry Ford, and lost. Ford then lost to Jimmy Carter.
Reagan, who had been Governor of California for 8 years started working towards the next election, slowly and deliberately, articulating his message.
Both sides HATED and FEARED Ronald Reagan. The RINOs, the country club blue bloods were "embarrased" by Reagan’s unabashed conservatism. His love for America. They were embarrassed that he didn’t go to the "right" college. The were embarrassed that the common man is who Reagan most identified with.
They all called Reagan stupid, derided him as a "B-Movie actor". They called him lazy, not "intellectually curious" (a favorite liberal ploy, they say that about everyone they don’t like)
This kept up for 4 years. The elite didn’t like him, but the people loved him.
Jimmy Carter turned out to be the worst President in history, until now, an epic failure. We still having to put up with the consequences of his 4 years of ineptitude.
So Reagan won a record setting landslide in 1980, all on a basic message of conservatism. He won 49 states in 1984, and was a point and a half from winning all 50.
Fast forward to today. Obviously, when McCain lost us the election, he lost it for Palin, as well. So, she went back to her day job, as the highly popular Governor of Alaska. And she is still out there, articulating the conservative message as only she can. Deliberately and methodically, she is preparing for her next effort, whatever it may be.
Of course, both the dems and the elite Republicans are scared out of their minds of Palin. They KNOW the history of Reagan. And both know the genuine article when they see it.
So, he we go. Palin is "stupid" doesn’t read books (BS, of course, both parents were teachers, and she has a degree in journalism and political science) she’s not "intellectually curious". The call her just a "hockey mom" . Or a "former beauty queen", or other some such BS.
And of course, she didn’t go to the "right" college.
Now just like 1976-1980, we have the worst President in history in office. Obama is making Jimmy Carter look like a brilliant idea. Obama is an epic failure on every front. His personal populaity is still high, but his job performance numbers are dismal. The worst in history for a new President. Thus assuring Obama but one term. (thank God!)
Sarah Palin’s job is to keep articulating the conservative principles that made america great. If she keeps doing that, she’s your next President.
Most of the folks in the video are decent people. Other than being a liberal democrat, I don’t really have anything against John McCain, but he is not a "survivor" in this context.
Even Mr Newt, who led the conservative revolution that took over Congress in 1994 has a little RINO blood in him.
Jeb Bush was a great Governor, but a non-starter, for several reasons. And Mitt Romney, while sharp on money matters, ran his state in full RINO mode.
The others, aren’t experienced enough yet, but certainly have a voice.
