Thousands Expected at Sandra Cantu's Memorial Service Today

Family, friends, and thousands of strangers will gather in Tracy, CA, today to say their final goodbyes to 8-year-old Sandra Cantu.
A public memorial service will be held today for the little girl who was found stuffed in a suitcase after she was kidnapped, raped and murdered. Her disappearance caught the attention of a community and a nation — as have the horrific details of her death..
More than 2,000 mourners are expected for the memorial, which takes place in a high-school gymnasium at 4 p.m. ET, reports KTLA News, while 500 more will watch via video from a separate room. Audio will be streamed into the school’s football field, which can seat another 7,000. Even Sen. Barbara Boxer, D-CA, is trying to attend. A private family funeral was held Wednesday.
Meanwhile, as a precautionary measure, California police are asking any Tracy parents who think their children may have been inappropriately contacted by Sandra’s alleged murderer, Melissa Huckaby, to come forward. Huckaby, 28, has been charged with murder, kidnapping, lewd or lascivious acts on a child and rape by a foreign object.
