Was Hillary Going to Divorce Bill? Yes, the National Enquirer Says

Over the years there’s been much speculation about why Hillary Clinton didn’t just divorce Bill. And, let’s face it, no one could blame the current Secretary of State for dumping her husband in light of his well-known extracurricular activities.

Now an upcoming National Enquirer report claims that Mrs. Clinton came close to ending her marriage with the former president. In fact, the paper insists Clinton went so far as to draw up divorce papers that included the names of some high-profile other women. But once she decided to run for Senate in New York, the Enquirer claims, Clinton canned the divorce and stuck with Bill.

The list, which according to the Enquirer’s source is still sitting in the lawyer’s safe, includes the names of  "at least two drop-dead gorgeous Hollywood actresses" plus other names "that would be recognizable to the public." A sampling of President Clinton’s alleged extra-marital loves, from the report:

There were rumors about Bill’s involvement with curvy 38-year-old Lisa Belzberg, who’d split from her husband Matthew Bronfman, heir to the Seagram liquor fortune.

He was also linked with actresses Julie Bowen and Saffron Burrows, British socialite Ghislaine Maxwell and New York socialite Sale Johnson.

Sources said Hillary also warned Bill about his friendship with wealthy blonde Canadian divorcee Belinda Stronach, once dubbed "the young Hillary."

Of course, the Enquirer offers no proof. And, if you ask us, whatever happens behind the Clinton’s closed doors should be their business. Hasn’t the world heard enough about their personal life?

Of course the National Enquirer has no proof…neither does WOW. But hey let’s run with it… Hillary got thrown “under the bus” by the Dems. Now, apparently someone in the drivers seat thinks repeatedly running over the Secretary of State repeatedly is good form. Why this, and why now?

Mary:  Hillary got thrown “under the bus” by the Dems.

Boy, didn’t she.  After a while, it reminds you of the other threads on the treatment of Muslim women.  Of course, the civilized folk don’t throw rocks, but they belittle and verbally crucify women as often as they can.  All part of being a woman, I guess.

Back on the old Seinfeld Show, Julia Louis Dreyfus’ character of Elaine Benes once stated “that girls don’t fight fair…they just pick on each until one of them develops an eating disorder.” I see that here. I see it on the Palin threads; and I see it in the ugly treatment of Hillary Clinton by the Democratic party. I saw it in that damn “reset” button snafu in Russia. On her first trip as Secretary of State, I saw that as a little warning salvo… Keep the little pantssuited lady in her place…hey National Enquirer…float some dirt and keep the uppidity Hillary looking over her shoulder.

I would have had so much more respect for her if she had divorced him.

I wish that wowOwow wouldn’t dignify the National Enquirer’s rumors. I thought this site was supposed to be for intelligent, educated women. This story, along with others, makes me wonder who the target audience really is.

That is she and Bill’s business!  I would have left him but that is her decision!  He can be a lovable old coot.

The NE is just trying to sell papers…..as usual!

Hillary Clinton is the Democrats version of Sarah Palin. A strong woman RIDICULED for her wardrobe; her personal life (weren’t Bill’s affair current news at the time of his impeachment…so why drag this out now?). Like Palin, when in doubt take a cheap shot at Hillary. I am actually surprised that the term “cankles” wasn’t added to post just for giggles.

Mary: Hillary Clinton is the Democrats version of Sarah Palin. I think they sharpened their claws on her, then went after Gov. Palin with experience in hand. There is absolutely nothing in Palin’s life that hasn’t been dragged through the libs’ hen yard. As for Clinton’s divorce papers, who really cares. Obviously, it’s up to her to decide what’s best for her life.

Marjorie — "I think they sharpened their claws on her, then went after Gov Palin"

I think the sharpening was quite obvious on this site- during the Democratic campaign.  I remember the disgusting trash on here.

Will she divorce Bill?  Tune in tomorrow for more on this Soap Opera!

Say what you will about the Enquirer, they usually are on the money.  They have been sued so many times that they usually have excellent sources (I remember reading a column by Liz here saying the same thing).

What I think is sad is that Hilary knew that divorcing Bill would most likely stall her political career if not end it totally (she only tore up the papers after she decided to run for Senate).  It’s sad that America still considers women to be somehow less than men: divorce is not an issue for male politicians anymore like it was 30 years ago.  But it’s still here for us gals.

(Sigh) Another day, off to fight that ole double standard!
