White House Dog Expected to Arrive This Month

Breaking news! Keep your ears perked for the arrival of the highly anticipated White House dog.
While President Barack Obama had originally promised the first family would get the dog "after I get back from the G-20 summit," which was today, the furry friend will most likely arrive by the end of the month.
The First Lady’s press secretary, Katie McCormick Lelyveld, says ‘definitely not this week,’ when asked for guidance on the arrival of the Obama’s family dog … He has said the family had already selected the dog it wants.
The breed? People magazine reports that Michelle and the children picked a Portuguese water dog, a hypoallergenic pup suitable for Sasha’s allergies.

What a wonderful dog!!! He will bring alot of joy to everyone, well, maybe not to Mom and Dad during the puppy stage…but they just might enjoy having a new baby in the house.
Now, the search for names….this entire site will have a ball with that one!
I am tracking all the breaking First Dog news on my blog, The Obama Dog Blog. There are conflicting rumors that the dog might appear this week. Maybe even on Easter…

Am I the only one who gets the feeling that the parents aren’t keen on having a dog and perhaps have decided that if the girls no longer want one, they won’t get one?
What became of Biden’s dog?
The president and First Lady are kinda busy so you can’t really blame them if getting a dog isn’t their number one wish, LOL…but I can’t imagine the girls have changed their mind. I’m sure it’s just a matter of letting the puppy get old enough to leave home, with possibly a little training first.
google Joe Biden’s dog(s) plenty of news out there.
Thanks, Libra Lady, for the chance to brag about rescues and MeeToo. I NEVER pass up a chance to sing their praises.
MeeToo, my 12 year-old, 8 pound Shih Tzu, named because of the "Take me, too" look on his face whenever you’re leaving the house, was rejected at age five by his owner, who obviously physically and emotionally abused him. Matted, filthy, and scared to death, he was crammed into a small cage next to the door to the room where they euthanized the animals at the shelter. No adoption for him, the shelter said, because he hated people, his eye was nearly hanging out AND he was an “owner relinquishment,” which automatically meant death.
I refused to leave until they let me adopt him. I got him home, cleaned him up [he hated it!], and to my surprise there was a pure bred Shih Tzu underneath. I took him to the best doggie ophthalmologist who surgically repaired his eye. Then I gave him lots of TLC. Still it took almost five years to fully earn his trust. He must have been terribly abused. Now he is my shadow and my protector. He plays like a cat, is soft as a bunny, is fearless of big dogs, and is supremely confident. Definitely the sweetest soul on the planet. All he needed was a little love. As you know, Libra Lady, your pup reminds me of my "Popcorn" - long gone now but forever missed. Another rescue. And so many others [including hypoallergenic dogs], especially in this foreclosure crisis, are in need of homes.Andrea,
Magnificent story! My heart has been warmed by it. I’ve been rescuing animals for over 20+ years. Feral Cats are my speciality as these are the most difficult and least adoptable. Everyone of mine has become a lap cat and able to love. Some took weeks, months and years to heal but they did and have successfully gone on to adoption to loving and caring pet parents all across the United States.
