White House Releasing Report on Airforce One's NYC Flyby

The White House will release this week a report on Air Force One’s frighteningly low flight over downtown Manhattan.
The presidential plane was apparently performing a photo op with Lady Liberty, but failed to notify local authorities of its flyby and caused a panic. That flight cost over $300,000 and earned the White House scads of bad press. While the administration originally said it would not release a report, Press Secretary Robert Gibbs yesterday said otherwise: "The report, I believe, will be concluded at some point this week. We’ll release its findings and release a photo." The report will be compiled by Deputy Chief of Staff Jim Messina and will "ensure that it never happens again," reports CNN.
All we can say is that better be one great picture for all the panic it caused — and the fact that the Feds knew people would be startled, yet did nothing to allay fears.

Yep.. another example of the ole double standard.
When Obama does something like this, it’s a "shake the head, smiling" type thing for the press (‘give the guy a break! He’s NEW!")
If this had been GWB, front page for days, commentary on every channel, people calling for his resignation.
Another blessing to count!

Are they kidding me???!!!! The findings are many people like myself have finally gotten past 9-11 are they kidding themselves thinking that saying sorry will help…..so many of us are once again back at square one because of some ASS doing a photo op ! It was living it all over again and I wonder how many people are back in therapy and back on medications that the insurance companies will give them a hassle about! Oh yeah ME…finally off meds and functioning and moving past 9-11 only to get there once again and my insurance company is telling me no I reached my max and can’t have anymore help…and I’m only 1 person!
White House press secretary Robert Gibbs stated at today’s press briefing that the Obama administration has reversed itself and will release “a photo” of the Scare Force One flyover.
Still does not satisfy even a minimum level of public disclosure. And no way in hell I’m withdrawing my FOIA requests.
More: Gibbs says its “review” of the incident will be concluded this week.
Bold prediction: Like all of Obama’s self-initiated reviews, this one will exonerate the White House of any wrondgoing or taxpayer malfeasance.
Just another shining moment in the short history of the presidency with the Greatest Transparency Ever.
deber B —I’m like you. I can’t wait to hear this report. Perhaps it will be just another "Janet Like" report. "We didn’t mean for it to happen" or "permission was released without being signed by a superior" or "Gibbs was mistaken, there will be no report".
I would like for someone in the MSM to really dig deep to find out the particulars. I would like them to name names and have the cajones to call out this administration. I’m sure it won’t happen. Perhaps I dream too much!

Yup. Only a democratic administration could get away with "reviewing" itself, and then using those reviews as evidence of "transparency".
I know. If Bush had done any of these things, the media would not stop.
You’re right about the shoe throwing, too. I mean, Bush not only wasn’t responsible for the episode but handled himself extremely well; yet the media mocked him nonstop for it. Just think of the "fun" they could have with all of Obama and Biden’s "episodes", if they were about anything more than supporting leftists and bashing conservatives…
