DeB I agree:) HYPOCRITES is exactly what they are. I think Fox should be required to put under their stories lies and fabrications. We have written these stories for the comfort of our veiwers.

SG: Fox "We have written these stories for the comfort of our veiwers."

That is perfect. Honesty in labeling!

The above link is for the liberals only… the right wingers will not get the irony.

Bloomberg News reports that an army of 3300 registered lobbyists is working the halls of Congress. That is about six well paid lobbyists for every representative! And… an average of three more a day are signing in for the fight.  The lobbying dollars are flowing nicely. According to the Center for Responsive Politics, $263.4 million was spent in the first half of ‘09…and half of that was spent by drug companies.  We all know that number is going straight up and in a hurry.

I believe most Americans are disillusioned by news such as this. It doesn’t matter what you do or do not support, we should demand that our congress (wo)men buckle up and do the right thing rather than buckling under these big dollars.  Once again… when pigs take flight.

True Maggie… no matter what people may think, or THINK they think, about healthcare (strange but true most Republicans believe there actually WERE "death panels") people are very upset with the tactics the Republicans are taking on this and their lack of any positive work on healthcare.

Leave The Guns At Home

excerpt: Try a thought experiment: What would conservatives have said if a group of loud, scruffy leftists had brought guns to the public events of Ronald Reagan or George W. Bush?

How would our friends on the right have reacted to someone at a Reagan or a Bush speech carrying a sign that read: "It is time to water the tree of liberty"? That would be a reference to Thomas Jefferson’s declaration that the tree "must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants."

Pardon me, but I don’t think conservatives would have spoken out in defense of the right of every American Marxist to bear arms or to shed the blood of tyrants.

In fact, the Bush folks didn’t like any dissent at all. Recall the 2004 incident in which a distraught mother whose son was killed in Iraq was arrested for protesting at a rally in New Jersey for first lady Laura Bush. The detained woman wasn’t even armed. Maybe if she had been carrying, the gun lobby would have defended her."

Great point DeBurca I had forgotten about that incident. While I did not agree with the lady holding the protests, it was indeed her right to do so and she was not armed. Match point to DeBurca.

The republicans couldn’t even handle people showing up in anti-Bush t-shirts for crying out loud.

That was Sue Niederer and she was there to ask a question but kept getting shouted down. Her shirt said "Pres. Bush you killed my son in Iraq."

Right on, DeBurca.  Of course, I do not advocate carrying guns to Bush rallies.  But presumably, we will never see another one— by the end of his presidency, he was toxic to his own party! !
