I was so pleased to find your reply and read your kind observations.  Sorry it took me so long to respond.  I am seriously distressed by our political climate, and voices like yours give me hope and comfort.  Earlier I was thinking about how we come here and find such a diversion of "opinion" and respond each in our own way.  I can imagine that I am not alone as I read some of the horrid gratuitous bashing and wonder about the one who deposits such toxic waste for the rest of us to trip over like something the dog left in the yard.  I noted recently that one of the worst offenders wanted us to know that she was having to move from room to room to stay out of the maid’s way.  (Poor dear.  Probably meant a reduction in the 50 or 60 hateful criticisms she has time to post each and every day.)  I have tried to imagine what possesses someone to devote the entire day (sometime from before 6:00 a.m. until after 9:00 at night.) six or seven days per week, to publishing such vile counter-productive negativity.  I recognize that anonymity emboldens some, but I must say I felt much better about my fellow citizens before I got a good look at what some of them are carrying around in their (sad shriveled) hearts.  Ugh.  At least we can speed-scroll, they actually LIVE in that dark place.

The other side of this is the beautiful poetic insightful commentary sandwiched in between the word-piles of (excrement.)  There are women (and a few enlightened men) here who renew my faith in humanity, and make me feel privileged to have the benefit of learning from you.  That is what keeps me coming back.

Thanks, and +~~ to you.

p.s. I’m sure you have noticed that several of the acid voices who were banished have sneaked back in with new names?  (the astrological oxymoron, and the equine posterior, and the flying madwoman, to mention a few.)  I am amused that even as they use the cover of anonymity, their true character surfaces like a wine stain.  Poor Wow…. some days it must feel like a game of whack-a-mole.  :~}

Hi Phyllis

I did leave a response to this lovely comment of yours, but for some reason it disappeared.  I will not attempt to re-post what I wrote, (wouldn’t want to prompt another vanishing act!) but please know that I truly appreciate and value your voice.

HenZen Mama! I so agree about Phyllis. I come here only on ocassion. But it is always a thrill to see you. I was curious as to what would be here about the elections. And at least on the front page… absolutely nothing. ha haha how apropos.  Although I am glad to know that "Joan Ganz Cooney is appalled at Hillary’s head scarf". Because nothing says women power, like focusing on her scarf, rather than the substance of her mission.

Phyllis - what about the sick minds that can come up with signs like this:

C Hardy, how soon the democrats forget the horrible and nasty threats hurled at George Bush!   And now they are embarrassed and shamed of some of the same signs being waved at President Obama!   Personally, I don’t believe in what either party has done to that end.   I would never do it.   In fact, I never even have thoughts like that about anyone.   However, there are those who take their political passion way too far….and let’s be clear…..they come from both sides of the two parties.   For anyone to suggest that the republicans are the ONLY party to do this is simply not in the game of reality.

Deber- I agree that either "side" should make signs of such but I just find it funny how the Dems on here are upset over what is being shown and all I ask is where were they when the above signs were around for Bush - sitting at home sipping wine and saying its ok b/c they hate Bush anyway?

C Hardy, remember the democrats hated George Bush so much that they created "a perfect storm" for a radical to sliver into the White House….and quietly but deliberately placing his "czars" around him…and he was clever because he knew they wouldn’t have to go through any type of screening until, of course, Glenn Beck exposed Van Jones and now ACORN!!!

The democrats outrage that the republicans are not showing respect and adulation for President Obama has fallen on deaf ears.   We remember well how George Bush was treated.   Americans have every right to speak out and protest when they disagree with a president.

C Hardy, good point! Fair and balanced! The difference is that the Dems believe Obama to be the "perfect" con artist! :-)

Do religious extremists know what they are?  I’ve scanned the web on various sights and came back to wowowow because it is plain scary out there.  The tea party protestors bear religious signs, communist signs, and one Martin Luther King sign that turned my blood cold.  It read: "He had a dream we got a nightmare" It’s been 9 months only and this is prejudice in the truest sense of the word. Several people who supposedly love our country find it amusing to carry our flag upside-down.  THAT MEANS SOMETHING- It is not to be done lightly.

It seems all the ills of our country for the last 40 years have been laid at our President’s feet. It is a-okay to charge him with the national debt, terrorism, invasive government, etc., but we have to realize these problems are the cummulative effect of many years of policy errors.  We need in this country someone to look at our official policies for the problems we face and write about them.  A free press isn’t something to sneer at.  It is part of our constitution for a reason. Although the media often forgets what is important with a 24 hour news cycle.

When we had 30 minutes of national news available there was a prioritizing of events to report.  Now that America is moving 24/7/365 no one takes time to sift through the abundance of reports and find the important articles. I want to know what our policies say I can’t take enough classes in enough time to do it myself, I am at the mercy of what is made available to me.

Thank god it’s peaceful here, I trust the wow staff and would really love to know what it is that we are facing.  The solutions may be so simple.

Susan would you please post the site with those offensive signs. The more they are put in the light for who they are the better!

These were part of a photo essay under an article on politico.  Politico is a different type of site …I don’t recommend it to learn anything except that "it’s getting ugly out there".  Don’t get me wrong the articles are good, but it’s a sort of hit and run environment and there’s no link because the article is gone from the front page today.  I’ll find it if I can.
