Hi, Patty. You ought to give Joe a shout. He’d probably love to hear from you.

To listen to the station, go to www.wjrwam.com . I’m on from 4pm-6pm, although there’s about a 6-minute digital delay…so it’s more like 4:15pm that we start on the computer. In the upper right corner it says "Listen Live". Click that. Another box will pop up that says "Click here to Listen Live". Click that. Now, just wait for it to buffer a few seconds. Make sure your speaker volume is up on the computer (there should be a little speaker icon on the bottom right of your computer screen). Cheers.

James - Thanks for the instructions for listening to your radio broadcast.  I hope to be "Listening Live," on Wednesday afternoon.  As for Joe Namath, I’ll give him a shout out, if our paths cross again.  Patty

James,

You are the best when it comes to recounting the events in your area. I so admire your ability to get around and report what’s going on or what you’ve attended yourself! Thank you so much. I wish I could be there to see some of these things too.

You’re very kind, Mac, but I’m just a fly on the wall, as these events unfold in Grand Rapids, an amazing city, and along with Traverse City and Ann Arbor, the crown jewel(s) of Michigan’s Lower Peninsula.

Just found this today, still checking it out:

"But, in DC and nine other states, including Arkansas, Idaho, Mississippi, North Carolina, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, and Wyoming, insurance companies have gone too far, claiming that "domestic violence victim" is also a pre-existing condition."

http://www.seiu.org/2009/09/domestic-violence-victims-have-a-pre-existing-condition.php

The sad thing is I can’t seem to find myself surprised.

As the good christians sit on their butts and do the corporate bidding. How disgusting:(

Please name names! Which GOOD Christians might that be? The ones that I know personally are helping to pay the medical bills of 4 different people in our community that are fighting Cancer. A few weeks ago the GOOD Christians in our town helped to relocate and provide for a family that was burned out. The GC’s in my community provide school supplies for students in need at the beginning of every school year and continue throughout the year. The GCs in my community raise thousands of dollars for Cancer research every year. Very few of us sit on our butts and do nothing when there is a need in our community. I generally do my best to avoid name calling and mud-slinging, but the only thing "disgusting" about this is your narrow-minded, stereortyping of Christians statement

Well Scarlett it is the religious right fighting against health reform that would help everyone. Wrapping themselves in the flag, gun to shoulder and calling themselves christians. All I have seen from these people are equal oppertunity hate. The loudest to yell christian from what I see is the least christ like. I believe christ did less talking and more helpful actions.

SG from what I have seen noone is fighting against it - we all want it - even those "wrapped in the flag with guns to shoulder religious right"…From what I have seen they dont like the bill that is on the floor right now - the Dems asked for them to bring another bill to the table and they did so - so like Roger said on Friday - lets all sit down now and discuss both bills and come to one bill that is right for both sides - since it is way to obvious there has to be a side here - for me there is no winning side - its the American people who will win in the end IF and its a big IF this is done right!!!

I dont think enough is being done to get a bill passed - yes we want reform because NONE of us knows when WE may need public health care - It could be me due to awful, awful circumstances.  I am far from being able to collect Medicare.

There is not one "right" poster on this site that has come out and said they dont want healthcare reform - they have said over and over they dont like what is out there now and would like to see it changed.

C if you go back on all republican post they will early on say there is nothing wrong with our system. They quote churchill and C he started the NHS. The republicans voted no on medicare yet they are all now waving signs keep government out of my medicare? So we will have to disagree on that my friend. I have watched their post go from republican talking point to republican talking point. The truth is they want to do nothing. Sadly that won’t help all Americans who need it. We all can win only if we stand against the lies and misinformation. The majority of America wants health care reform. Again go back and look at some of the older post where they say our system was fine.

SG I remember and there may have been one or two that said "our system is fine" and for some their system is fine so stating that is not wrong nor is it saying they dont want reform for others.  For me those are really harsh words - yes I agree there aer some that dont feel they should have to pay for reform out of their hard earned money & what is wrong with that?  If I work hard I like to see others work hard - does that mean I dont give or share what little I do get, NO, but that is my choice - I dont like to be told what I have to do - do you?  Do you like someone to come in and say "ok you make $100 so $30 of that is your groceries, $30 of that will go to Ladybug down the street who has 3 kids and would rather stay home and live off your money"…yes that may  not be a very good analogy but I think you can get my point.

From what I remember most Republicans want the reform but they dont want to see the middle class get stuck paying for it which is what will eventually happen - always does.  I have said what I was going to say 10 times before so I wont repeat myself.

SG I truly feel that your dislike for some Republicans clouds your judgement of all Republicans and for that I am truly sad. That is like saying if a white person kills someone then all white people are the same & we know that isnt true…Not all Republicans are what you say they are just like not all Democrats are socialist loving want to tell everyone else what to do…
