I too must have breakfast to go with my expensive meds, otherwise my stomach will not handle them, that breakfast comes very early in the day, then I usually have a second breakfast or brunch with my husband when he gets up. Might only eat one other meal all day long. Always enjoyed breakfast so why not have it twice.
I am with Frank on this one. Brunch is so lavish. Although if I go out to eat later, I really do love breakfast food so I could have breakfast for dinner, or is it called supper?
No, have never been a “breakfast food person”. Even on weekends when I cook breakfast or brunch for my husband and sons…I don’t eat “the usual” bacon and eggs etc. I will sometimes make myself a BLT with avocado, but that is as close as I get.
I am definitely not a breakfast person. Lately though, I’ve wanted to try one of those acai bowls at the Smoothie King. The acai is some berry found in the Amazon that is supposed to have 10 times the antioxidants of red grapes. The smoothie is served in a bowl with tasty granola on top.
Hi Lena…..
I’ve read about the acai berry but didn’t know they were making a dish out of it……..I’ll have to ask my grandkids……they know where all the new stuff is.
Sounds good.
JB………Try throwing a fried (hard cooked yolk) egg on your BLT, it’s really good. I used to make these for my kids when they were still at home (a 100 years ago) for our dinner.
One of our family’s favorite sandwich.
I need breakfast. My stomach is a mess when it’s empty and a hungry Charlotte is a nasty beast in the morning. I don’t gorge myself; a cup of jasmine green tea with some nice bread and a slather of hazelnut-chocolate spread make me feel much happier with the world. If there’s some melon on the side, even better. I can then handle the fight for the seat on the commuter train.
I may have a few spoonfuls of yogurt late morning, some raisins and nuts, fruits, throughout the day, and dinner I have a hard time. I’d rather eat just veggies.
I have always eaten breakfast–––a bowl of Total with fresh fruit in it, then coffee. Midmorning I have orange juice and a few potato chips–I like the taste of tart and salt. The only deviation from this is on Sundays when I have my perfect egg, lots of toast with luscious jam, and of course the ubiquitous coffee. I was raised having breakfast; I raised my children this way and they in turn are raising their children the same. Break that fast–––oh, yeah.
Some mornings it is watermelon. Some mornings it is eggs, turkey scrapple and double fiber bread. Some mornings it is leftovers from the night before. Occasionally it is… yes… I admit it… Lucky Charms or Fruit Loops. I wake up every morning very hungry.
I am a breakfast person ! First thing my husband and I have a large mug of tea with milk and sugar ( I learned to drink it that way in England) we watch the morning shows while we gets ready for work. Weekdays I have Grapenuts for breakfast and mid morning I have yogurt. On weekends we have eggs, omelettes or traditional breakfast food and we eat on our patio.
I love my breakfast time. It is the quiet time of the day when I can sit down on the beautiful screened porch with my paper, freshly ground coffee and some sort of whole grain. This is the time I can get centered and prepare myself for the whole day, and I notice that when I break this routine, somehow my day is more difficult and my rhythms are not quite right.
Besides, it keeps me from temptation through the day.
