The poll should have a few more options. Not everyone has ever smoked pot and so answering your poll question leads the reader to believe that all who answered did or does.
I have never smoked pot or anything of the sort so I did not answer the question.
You don’t have my answer either which is yes I did when I was younger and yes I would if I knew where to get it now. It would help me deal with chronic pain now.
I believe alcohol and cigarettes are far more addictive, not to mention physically and psychologically damaging, than pot. I’ve never, nor has anyone I know ever, heard of anyone overdosing on pot. It’s been said that pot is a “gateway” drug - people start with pot and move up to more serious drugs. NOTTRUE!
I know several people who’ve been smoking pot for decades, and never tried any other drugs. These are productive, successful people with loving, close families, nice homes, jobs they love, and large networks of friends. And these are people who don’t drink more than the occasional alcoholic beverage, and most kicked the cigarette habit long ago.
Me? I smoked plenty in my youth. But now? Why, it’s illegal! For you to suggest such a thing…..I am insulted…..I’m just going to walk away now!
As an asthmatic, I couldn’t smoke dope. I used to sit around at parties and wait for everyone to catch up with my generally enlightened state of being. That and the possibility of Ms. Manners reading this prevents me from commenting on the topic, other than to say, you really shouldn’t knock what you’ve not tried, folks. As Ms. Tomlin once said, “Drugs may be the road to nowhere, but they certainly are the scenic route!”
Mugsy’s quote “other than to say, you really shouldn’t knock what you’ve not tried, folks”….so Mugsy I guess you think we should also go out and get aids as well. No thanks!
I was in college in Ohio from 1963 - 1967 and alcohol was still the drug of choice, then. I have always brushed my teeth before I go to bed, and I remember a number of times that my toothbrush tasted like gin the next morning!
There’s nothing wrong with smoking some pot. As Giner stated I’ve never met anyone who overdosed by smoking pot. And pot smokers are not out robbing to supply thier habit. If anything we’re at the store getting something to eat.
When available would be my most accurate answer. Can’t we just be sensible and turn it into a fair trade product which is purchased through licensed premises and then it can be taxed too!
