I’m proud of who I am and who I’ve evolved into so far. It’s true that age is only a number. I focus on living with joy every day and it shows. Lines, wrinkles, and scars tells stories about me, but they aren’t who I am.
I am VERY fortunate to have inherited good genes from my mom and grandma! I look about 10 years younger than I actually am, so if people guess me to be in my 40s, who am I to correct them!
I started greying at an early age, so I became fatalistic about the whole thing at an early age. So yes, I always tell the truth. (And I color my hair!)
Yes I always tell my age and wonder why so many women do not come out with it. Everyone can see by your hands and neck that you ain’t 21, plus, when women lie about their age, they help perpetuate old stereotypes. Be proud of what you have achieved, whatever your age, and don’t hesitate to say how long you have been on this mortal coil.
Of course. LOL I am going through menopause and I want everyone to watch out and get the heck out of my way!!! Hormones out of whack, hot woman coming through and I may drop my clothes at any minute! Air conditioning one minute turn on the heat the next….or vice versa. Over the hill at 54.
Since I reached the seventh decade it has become more difficult to say outloud, even to myself, because frankly I never ever thought about being “this old.”
I have never lied about my age. I realize I’m only 41, but I don’t see ever feeling the need to lie about that. I’m very proud of who I am, and I don’t think I look my age but hope that I wouldn’t care if I did.
I’m happy to say that I love telling people my real age, because 99% of the time, they find it hard to believe I’m as old as I am. My daughter and I get mistaken for sisters a lot. I read somewhere recently that if you’re going to lie about your age, ADD a couple years, instead of subtracting. That way you’ll always hear, “Really? You don’t look that old!” Keeping that one in mind for the future…..
Oh…..and the older I get, the more attention I’m getting from younger - much younger - men. I get more attention from 25 to 30 year old men than I did when I was 25 or 30! It’s great! Some younger men definitely appreciate a mature woman.
I am proud of my age! My mother died the day before her 46th birthday, and ever since then, my birthday have taken on a special personal meaning. I’m a very happy 53, wrinkles graying hair hot flashes and all! To paraphrase a country-western song, every day you’re on the right side of the grass is a good day! I want to be dancing on top of the grass for a long time!
I tell the truth. I have never had a reason to deny my true age. I also have great genes and although silver hair is the norm for a lot of us in my family I still have the ash blonde but with a very nice array of silver streaks around my face..picture Ellen Burstyn with long hair ..she is much more beautiful than I am but the effect is the same..lol..we have to just be what we are, it is real and that is the best eay to be afterall~~
