I’m across the river near the Lloyd center. I had no idea Washington also had mail in elections. I thought it was just us. Bev.

I KNEW I’d seen a Portlander on here somewhere… Not all of Washington. I know that Spokane County still has polling places. Clark County just went to mail only not long ago. I don’t like it. I think it really takes away from the spirit of it.

Voting by mail takes some of the excitement out of it. But there is no excuse not to. No more not having time or the dog ate my homework. It also allows the party’s to zero in with their get out to vote phone calls. Once your ballot is dropped off or received they stop calling.

I think I’m going to wait until mid-morning on November 4th. I might run into a crowd, but I don’t have any time conflicts, so I sorta want to see what sort of circus I’ll find at the polls.

No. This year I want to go and stand in line with my friends and neighbors.

No, but if my state allowed it, it would make it easier for many of us. But I wonder if this method is safe from abuse too.

Well, despite being a bit of a paranoid my self, I do not believe that early voting holds any more risk of fraud than “regular” voting. I am an absentee voter cuz it’s easy, and I usually just take my absentee ballot into the Voting Office on the day it comes in the mail (I don’t mail it… told you I was paranoid ☺). This election, I realized that early voting started on the 6th of October, so I went on down and voted then. I had to sign an affidavit saying I’d destroy my absentee ballot when it arrived. I ran it through the shredder on the day I received it.

Signed, sealed and delivered to the post office yesterday. I truly love the opportunity to study all the ballot measures here in CA in the comfort of my home and mark my ballot then and there.

We don’t have early voting in Kentucky unless it’s absentee. I think the process is starting to make it legal in the next election of 2012. So, I will get up as close as possible to 6:00 a.m. and walk to the polling place, and get it over with before the crowd appears. I feel sorry for the folks that have to wait until after work because the lines will be horrendous. Of course, we are having all sorts of scare tactics in parts of the state to try to keep certain demographics from voting at all. But, voter corruption and rigging is so legendary, and has been for all time, that the Sec’y of State’s office is prepared for it. It is interesting to read about voter fraud and moonshine back in the old days.

Why yes, dahlings, I voted. This year, I voted for a man because, sadly, the woman I wanted to see as President is not running, dears.

Because I live in a small mountain community, long lines at the polls aren’t usually a problem. I like to go to the polls, vote on a paper ballot and put it in the box, the way I’ve always voted. I worry a lot, especially this year, about early ballots being compromised, but truthfully, I’m concerned about all of our votes. We have League of Women Voters poll observers here to make sure no one is turned away illegally, but at really large precincts in the cities I know there will be shenanigans.
