How would you react to Favreau's photo (see below) if you were Sen. Hillary Clinton?

I would not have been surprised. After all the sexism involved in this campaign it would not have surprised me. It is just business as usual. Why waste energy on reacting to someone who has no understanding of what it takes to be a woman, let alone a woman in politics. Has no understanding of who she is, how hard she has worked her whole life, or to have lived through the babyishness of the press nullifying and vilifying her.

I’d be a tad flattered. Then again, I was also born with one of those…whaddyacallits…a sense of humor……..

Actually, Kryssi, that’s what I was thinking––I’d be a tad flattered. I think Hillary handled it very well and with her great sense of humor which is exactly what made the “boys” feel a little foolish.

…I mean they are young, drunk, AND male. That’s about as un-complex as an organism can possibly get. Hard to take offense to such mentality.

As usual, Kryssi, you are right on ! Boys will be boys - which means stupid, immature, posturing, show-offy, sophomoric and drunk. I know, not ALL boys, but get enough together in front of a camera and they think they are Will Farrell.

We take ourselves a tad bit too seriously at times. We do not know what is happening in their moment and really, do we care?

It looks like college boys being… college boys. The length of that campaign was overwhelming as well as the stress, I’m sure. It was bound to get goofy just to relieve tension. This should not have made it out to the public, however. I think HiIlary has responded the right way- a little chuckle and move on.

It would be equally sexist if these were just college boys, but these “boys” are putting words in our president-elect’s mouth. There are many other ways to relieve tension. I don’t care how Hillary responded. I’m waiting for Obama to respond with some clear definitiion of sexism, its destructive impact, and a no-tolerance stance.

Considering all that Hillary Clinton has been subjected to in the past twenty years or so, I imagine such a photo rolls off of her quite easily.

It is a sign of things to come from an administration seeped in sexism. After a respite from the hyper-sexuality/violence of the Clinton years - it’s baaaack! Even that esteemed theologian Rev. Wright got into the spirit this weekend with a sexist rant. Does the acorn fall far from the tree?

I think Clinton’s response was exactly right. A very wry comeback. I hope everyone learns a lesson about the power of having your picture taken and then posted on facebook. These things can get a life of their own.

Hillary is no fool. By laughing it off she gains compounded interest. If she’d made a stink it would linger around her. Favreau’s foolishness is her gain.

I would have been a bit flattered and laughted about it.
