If you were asked to run for vice president of the U.S. tomorrow, truthfully, what would you say?

Hey Diana, the greatest presidents also didn’t hide behind a guarded fence or a barricaded street, and they talked directly with “the people”. Our worst president, Adolf Nixon changed that for us.

John, I think this whole subject of secrecy is a much-to-much subject that we need to be thinking about. History tells us that secrecy, combined with a well organized propaganda plan, leads to facism. Sarah Palin, just like Bush/Cheney, runs a secretive office. We should all be very worried if they get elected. At the least, if we want to continue our democracy, we must all participate in it, and make these leaders accountable and transparent.

Suzanne, Thank you for the heads up. I am dreading the final month of this campaign, what with all of the mud-slinging that has kicked in at full force. But, with the DOW down over 700 points, I don’t think the public is in any mood for all of that nonsense. Just as you wow post notification hit my email, I was reading this little blurb in which the McCain people are denying his part in the Keating 5: http://tpmelectioncentral.talkingpointsmemo.com/2008/10/mccain_lawyer_mc… What I personally believe we really need to be discussing is the case of his chairman, Rick Davis, and the part he played in Fanny/Freddy, inasmuch as he received a fortune from them and was getting paid as of a month ago. And, as far as I’m concerned, that is relavent to this very moment. Now, after going off subject, I will go to clusterstock.com.

I agree, unfortunately. It’s a shame, except that it’s obvious what needs to be done. I voted about two hours ago, so I’ve done my bit (without telling you my private voting info ;-}, I will say that Sarah needs to secure another two votes to win, no incumbent got an advance, animals will hopefully be living better, people of all sexual orientation will hopefully still be able to be married in CA) and I feel fine!

John: out worst president is sitting in the WH at this moment if he isn’t wasting that taxpayers money and another vacation cutting brush in Texas. Nixon was puny beside W. At least with Nixon we knew ther were 18 minutes of zapped tape by Rose Woods, unlike what we don;t know about Der Fuhrer Cheney and his machinations.

Nope…I would not run. I wouldn’t want my aged mother learning about my “steamy” past.

Yvonne I think that is what all of us are worried about.

Me as VP? And therefore me with a 33% chance of becoming President? There is nothing to consider here. I am in no way qualified to be VP. The job is to serve the people of this country, not to help oneself, at the expense of the people and of the country. This is the kind of question that gets asked when we put idiots in positions of power and accept bigger idiots as viable candidates. Any idiot begins to believe they could run the country. You would think one look at the state of our country’s economy would cure us of this addiction to accepting beer buddies as possible leaders of the free world. They only know how to blow things up. They have no clue how to put broken things back together.

Deni I am okay. Can’t wait until this election is over. It has gone on too long. I don’t like what is happening now as the campaigns push through this last month. Last week it was hot hot hot here, then it rained over the weekend and now we have warm weather again. Have a lot of work to do and have been diddling around but I really have to finish it to secure our business’s financial position. So far so good. My husband and my youngest went scuba diving in the channel islands this weekend, and it has made me want to see if I can book a trip to some faraway location using our points, for spring or summer. Eric will be out of the army around the first of June so want to take him along. Don’t want to think about the holidays, but it will take off here pretty soon and I will wonder what happened to the time or the year. Change is the name of the game. Everything seems ignited with speed and we are being pushed into a new era. I think I understand the story in the bible about the turning over of the money changers. The tables have sure been turned over. I just hope they can prosecute some of the S-O-B’s. It sure has made my retirement look different. Life is funny. How are you getting along? How is life treating you? Anything new on the horizon?

Anyone, man or woman, running as a candidate needs to know their material inside and out BEFORE they agree to run. If McCain and Palin win, will they have tutors for her around the clock getting her up to speed? They better. The woman is a disaster. I would love to see a woman as a VP or President for that matter. I hope that Palin’s inadequacy doesn’t discourage other women to run for Presidency or Vice Presidency in the future.
