They approached Major Smedley Butler to lead an army to go after FDR but Butler went to Congress and that put the kabash on their plan…but then they brought over a lot of Nazi’s into the CIA on “Operation Paperclip”….such a fun family!

I had only read and learned about how the Prescott Bush person was involved with Hitler before the war… Thus, the Bush regime seems to continue in the same\similar footsteps.
It actually does scare me to think that people in the United States of America really do absorb so much of the words and behaviors of the ilk from before. It makes me cringe to know that many Americans actually trust-ed them! Why are people not able to see for themselves what is going on before their very eyes?
Why did Americans NOT recognize the coup d’tat which occurred in these United States of America, back in the 2000 elections? Again, in 2004. Does anyone think for one moment that the Bush regime was going to leave the White House once they got back in it? Do you realize we almost lost our Democracy? Folks, everyone better get a grip on their political points of view, or we are in for a major reversal of Democracy in this country! If, WE the PEOPLE do not keep a handle on what is going on, and if we allow others to make OUR decisions for us, we will no longer have a democratic Republic.
God, I hope you all wake up before it hits you over the head!!! I just feel like screaming, because so many are simply brain washed by those who want only to manipulate and control all of us. Democracy is about the people participating in our liberty and freedoms, and not allowing anyone to stand in the way of our unity and governance by, of, and for the people.
Beautifully said Sister Lily… One has to carry the ability to discern what you are describing. My biggest challenge is to understand that not everyone has the ability to see things that can’t be “seen”. And that it does not make their perception less viable than mine. When we gain the tolerance of our indigenous brothers and sisters, we can celebrate our uniqueness and learn how to yield to one another.
Sometime last week, I received a post from someone named Dutch. In one short sentence, he/she put everything in perspective as to how I feel about our nation.
“You can lead, you can follow or you can get out of the way.”
We are in a huge transition in the chapters of our nation’s history. Whether we like it or not it’s going to be a very different country, and a very different world. We are going to be called upon to make sacrifices and to do some things that just may be very difficult. We can re-unite with excited anticipation, or we can just drag along and circulate as much negative energy as we can muster up.
Our country became a collective leader for the rest of the world. Somehow, we lost it. I don’t know if it was because we had such a windfall of plenty through the 90’s, in addition to the Limbaugh/Coulter bunch telling us how bad things were, or if it was the fact that we had such negative energy coming out of the Oval Office, or a combination of both, but here we are.
The world wants us lead again. Our nation wants real leadership back in the Oval Office. And, if you ask them, most people want to take back their ownership in our country by being asked for help and sacrifice.
We can get things done the right way or the easy way. But, whatever you choose, it’s going to be done. I want to be in the leader/follower columns. And, most of my friends in both parties are excited to get started to re-igniting the inspiration that is being generated now. And, most people do not want to be left behind. As for the country, progress is being made in both energy conservation and manufacturing, in research and development, in science, and if we don’t get moving, we will be left behind. We sure can’t get out of the way on these issues, and very few would want that.
So….what’s it going to be? Are we going to lead, follow, or get get out of the way? So, If you want to go through the rest of your life being all negative, get out of the way, because the rest of us are movin’ on…
Bluegrass….wonderful post….Did you hear Charlie Rose, et. al..last night….good one….I somehow feel that the negative element is softening somewhat….and when I woke up today I had the palpable notion that their legions had been reduced by half……overnight…..magical…..When I keep hearing about the DC police and the total absence of misbehavior, it’s simply extraordinary…..
Georgia, I watch him last night, and will go down and watch him tonight also. I know that he will have simply everybody on in the next few weeks as this Oval Office develops.
I am also amazed at how many of my republican friends are excited in this change of events. Everyone I know is excited to get started in making our country a better place. Please remember, I am smack in the middle of Republican McConnell/Bunning country. Although, the rumors about Bunning’s mental health are cropping up again.
Bluegrass…I know exactly where you are…”Greetings from the O.V.A. office”…..(Ohio Valley Artists’ office)…..
Do you know how to fish out the prayer service in re-run? Bishop Schori was there….I’ve only seen bitty bites……Lots o’ women on the program…..Don’t know anything about Bunning except that I’ve thrown his printouts in the trash at the post office for years now…..or in the woodstove……Did you ever get a report about the Bluegrass Ball?
The Herald wrote about in yesterday…you may go to kentucky.com and dig it up, Georgia. However, they barely had any pix. Apparently, someone tried to introduce the reporter to Bunning and he walked away rudely. But, I’ve heard for a long time that he is not operating on all eight cylinders. This was an issue when he ran last time. The last picture I saw of him, he just didn’t look “right”. But, I know he will run again. And, look at his qualifications to be in the senate: he pitched a no hitter when he was on the Detroit Lions and is in the baseball hall of fame…
Dear BG…finally found the re-run of the prayer service on C-span…….so many great quotes from the women on the agenda…..
“Mindful of the needs of others”? Yeah……and in my little bailiwick, as a child, when we said grace, we also said “and ever needful of the minds of others…”
Hey, Merrell, how are you? I’ve decided that I don’t fight with “negative nasties”; I prefer to say what I think and move on. I learned something a long time ago that you can huff and you can puff to no effect, and it is too much a waste of mental energy. Tempers flare to what avail? How much energy is spent calling someone names? And, besides, one ends up getting in the mud with the mud wrestler, and I am not going to allow someone else to hook me that way.
There are those among us that just don’t get it yet. They have been influenced for so long with the cynicism that the Limbaugh/Coulter bunch spread that they don’t have the vision to see what can be if we just pitch in and help and give things a chance.
Last evening, I had dinner with my closest friend who has always voted Republican. Even she is excited with the mood that has overtaken the nation, and she is looking forward once again to the future and what it may hold…if we let it happen.
I am convinced that as time passes, there are going to be bunches of optimistic happy people posting here in addition to what we already have. Especially, considering that Obama re-opened the Archives yesterday for the purpose of freedom of information. Here is a very good commentary I just heard a minute ago on All Thngs Considered:

Perhaps it would work, but at this point, Merrell, I don’t think a one state solution is an option; and, I think we are past the point of a two state solution. I look forward to George Mitchell getting over there and starting to work with everyone.
Hello Diana T: - I sought you out to-day (and found you on this page), because you always seem to be one who always has complete and very reliable information and answers to just about everything. Can you help me? During the many inauguration ceremonies, I searched every image presented on TV to find Condoleesa Rice. Do you know if she was present at the ceremony?
I feel greatly relieved and truly inspired. But I’m not naive. I understand that President Obama has challenges ahead the gravity of which have been faced by few of his predecessors. Yesterday we witnessed a worldwide affirmation of America’s choice for President - the collective cheers of peoples all over the planet. Today, it’s time to buckle down and tackle the job of restoring and rebuilding our nation, and I’m absolutely clear that this means all of us have to participate in whatever ways our communities need. My relief comes from the knowledge that the President has been there and done that. He understands the nuts and bolts of neighborhood struggles and cooperation. My inspiration comes from seeing this brilliant multiracial man who has been in the trenches -working with groups and churches, organizations and individuals- rise to the highest office in the land.
How I feel about America, is that nobody is above the law. I come from over 50 years of being a Republican but that stopped with Bush 41 and I never voted GOP again. I want my country back and I don’t give a damn which party can restore it.
