Post-conventions, do you think it's going to be a tight race?

As of today, the race is on. Conservatives who were going to sit this election out, are now behind this ticket. However, the campaign is just beginning. Palin has to face the media, and she won’t be able to hide under scripted answers if the moderators do their homework. Hopefully the voters will see their whole campaign is Iraq and Drill Baby Drill.

Carol, I just heard a man who is a part of the McCain campaign state that they will only let Palin speak to the media if they think it will help them win, and when the reporter asked, can you afford to do that? The man (can’t remember his name) replied, quite defensively, “We can afford to do anything we want”. I only hope that if they do not let her be interviewed or speak to reporters that voters will see that as the red flag that it is. Also, McCain did not look good last night, he looked tired and not too healthy. I think we need to know a lot more about Sarah Palin.

I just heard the audio again, the man who said that was Rick Davis.

DeB’, was on the road all day doing waterproofing calls….is the world still here? Any new gossip on the election bull? I figure it’ll be neck-and-neck, unless there’s a major scandal or stumble by one of the 4 “stars”/candidates.

Nothing new except that the Palin speech is being torn apart for being full of falsehoods. I’ve posted a piece from Crooks and Liars in this thread about it, though I know there are several sources of this information. I also heard they’re pretty much refusing to let her speak to reporters. Obama was on O’Reilly which shocked me. I don’t have cable so I didn’t see it, though I don’t think I would watch it anyway I cannot stand O’Reilly.

Denise - you seriously believed that tripe? McCain didn’t select Palin. He didn’t know her from a hole in the wall when she was selected. I can see why you cried, though. The whole article was really sad.

On the article, on and on and on. He picked her because he needed the religious right’s votes. The racist, sexist, bible toting, gun toting neo-cons, that put Bush in the White House. McCain, originally, was pro-choice, against Bush’s tax cuts for the rich, and reforming DC, at least that’s what he voted for in congress. The right did not believe he had really changed on pro-life and not a true racist conservative because he supported amnesty for immigrants who came to this country illegally, which is totally against most of the neo-cons agenda since the immigrants are non-white. With the BBD, on the ticket, he would get more votes. It’s all about getting elected at any cost. Like Sarah Palin the anti-christ, becoming President and setting women’s rights and civil rights for all back 500 years.

Considering where our country is today this shouldn’t be a close race, but it will be. Hopefully, the energy and enthusiasm voters are feeling today will follow them all the way to the voting booth.

At the beginning I thought that the race was not going to be so tight but as time goes by it is getting tighter and tighter.

Do enjoy your postings Diana - just saw where Cindy’s outfit last night, including Chanel watch, was worth over $313,000. No wonder he didn’t know how many houses he had, he could have bought mine twice over with what she was wearing.
