I saw that yesterday, Sandbee. And, I did a very catty thing…meow, Diana! I emailed the article and picture to a couple of friends of mine and said something about how much money it took to wear something that looked like a shiny yellow raincoat.
Actually, that is a fab color for a redhead or someone with a dark complexion, but I think the dress was wearing her, not her wearing the dress. Laura Bush looked fabulous in that wonderful winter white. I will never forget her 2nd inaugural outfit, the 2 piece winter white cashmere ensemble.
Diana, I marveled at how so few were publicly offended by her “Marie Antoinette”-style HAUGHTY couture in the face of such heartbreaking financial times. I thought it to be the height of affrontery and in really bad taste for her to dress that way at the convention. Looks like it went over the heads of the “average” folk they’re pandering to. I mean, Cindy’s wealthy, everyone knows that. But she was thumbing her nose at the average American in that get-up. Talk about elitist! There are so many families that could be rescued by the $300,000 that one outfit cost her.

Since most of the people I’ve been talking to still don’t like either candidate, or their running mates, and are wondering how, in this country……well, is this all we could find?
When I think of who I’d like to have seen running, a veritable rolladex of people come to mind…none of whom appear on the ballot. How sad, that in our country the best men for the job are just too wise to accept it. Perhaps it is simply the media. Perhaps they don’t want to subject their families to this godawful scrutiny. Whatever it is, sadly, we’re getting a lot less than the best.
In several previous elections many of us found ourselves voting against a candidate. In this one, we’d like to vote against both of them. So, yes, this will be a very tight race with the average person wondering, right up until they enter the booth, just who would damage us less.
Speak for yourself, Andrea, and all those “most of the people” you’ve been talking to. Most of ” us here folks” are confident that an Obama ticket is great and since two of the “best men” are on it we are optimistic. I’d be interested in your list of best men that you think would do the job well.
I agree.Kick them all out and start over.Anytime they give a speech or debate they must have truth detectors attached with audio. When they lie it sets off a loud siren.
