I agree completely. This is a private matter for their family and they should be just as free to choose as the rest of us are. Mr. Obama has stated many times he wants the best for his girls and that shouldn’t change because he became President.
The safety of these youngsters is the most important thing to me. I hope we’re never told where Malia and Sasha are enrolled in school. It’s not something we need to know. And certainly not a decision that the American people have any business trying to influence. I just hope Michelle can find an elementary school in the DC area she feels comfortable with.
While I think everyone should attend public school, which would improve all of them instantly, the safety issue is most important so the secret service needs to weigh in on this one not us.
where my children go to school, has always been a matter for my husband and i.
the same applies to my president elect and first lady obama!
(just saying their titles makes me smile!)
I would hope a Highly advance Private school where they can get a first rate education.
Also the Safety factor………….it will be easier to keep them safe from harm at a Private School.
The decision is up to Mr. Obama and Mrs. O, I say. My concern is for the girls’ safety. But I feel that way about all children. I want all American children to have the best education possible and have them be safe while being educated.
I, like Joan, believe it is none of my business. They Sasha and Malia have two extremely capable and wonderful parents that will make the right decision for them. If Obama could win the presidency I think he is equipped to make the right decision for his children.
Because of security reasons, I suspect the girls will attend private school such as Sidwell. And, if they are attending the Chicago Lab School( which I was not aware of until Joan said it), they are already so above public school readiness level that it wouldn’t help one bit to put them in public school.
Besides, the Obamas know what is best for their children; it is none of our business.
