I am trying to play catch-up. I missed alot of last night, home with a wracking cough, sore throat and a fever. I finally turned off the tv at 7:30 because I felt like I could not keep up. Looking at changes on the local level and seeing where we go from here. I do have hope for the future. Praying that really good, smart choices are made for the cabinet, to ensure a smooth(as possible) transition and will also result in a group of people that will roll up their sleeves to tackle the matters at hand.

Today, I’m feeling proud of our country and I’m also praying for President Elect Obama and for our country. We are in dire straights and I pray we can find our way out of the adversity.

Life goes on - I am celebrating while working today - gotta work! I understand how Marjorie feels - this is the first election I’ve ever been able to vote in where my candidate of choice actually won!

I do feel for people who’s candidate doesn’t win because I know how devastating the last two elections were for me. At least McCain has a bi-partisan bent and so does Obama and I believe he will be an active force in the new administration because Obama wants to bring people together.

I haven’t been here for a long time, but I would like to say that I am CELEBRATING!! to say the least. I think that Obama will do great things for our country.

No matter how we all voted, I am so proud of our country. We have overcome prejudice, but above all we have elected a man with principles, moxie, and brains. He appears to be family-oriented, and his work ethic is to be admired. What more could anyone ask? Is it not wonderful to be here today? I’m excited though he and his team have a huge task. Though I don’t expect he’ll be able to accomplish all of his agenda immediately, I’m looking forward to seeing a smart president doing what we elected him for. Hooray for America!

I’m certainly thankful, but with all the hate between parties that was generated this election season, I am simply glad it is over!

I am so happy today - I feel like a huge weight has been lifted - and I think I have actually been in a mild depression since election day 2000 - we will finally take our country back on Jan 20 - that’s the day we can really celebrate!!! Then the hard work begins - I am looking forward to seeing who President Obama will put on his cabinet and who he surrounds himself with - I feel certain he will make great choices. If he is as efficient at running the country as he was at running his campaing -we will be a great nation again. We will gain back the respect we have lost around the world over the last 8 years. I sat with my daughter last night watching the speech from Grant Park - and couldn’t hold back the tears of joy!! My daughter was happy because I told her not to do homework - but to watch the speech - as it was history in the making - she was shocked that I would say that!! Way to go America - we are the deverse community that was represented in Grant Park last night!!

I am doing both, I am very happy we will have a refreshing young face come January 20th, 2009. I am happy because I don’t have to listen about “Joe the plumber” any longer. I am disappointed with some of the results on the gay initiatives. We have come so far this year and to exclude any decent person because of sexual perference is so sad. To think there will be children in the foster care system who will suffer because of the ban in Arkansas and gay/lesbian people in CA and AZ won’t be allow to be married.

Hi All, as I said earlier, very disappointed about CA’s Prop 8 but at least Prop 2 passed and Prop 4 failed, yet again! Choice Rules!!!!

I am preparing to go to work although I am very tired from watching the election returns. First thing this am 11/5 I turned on Morning Joe. I immediately began addressing my TV vocally. The show was already lambasting the new President Elect Adm. about how inadequate it would be. It was all about Joe and Mika. But I had to go to work so I got up and did my am routine and well—- went to work. My thought after listening to the mostlly “negative” talking pundits was can’t you let the President Elect get some sleep, have breakfast and get dressed before he has to “save the world” by next Friday. The expectations from many are very high. Let’s hope they are not set to ensure his failure. Unfortunately, I belive this is so, these talking heads justify their existance by tearing down for the most part public servants. The real journey for America begins now. Yes we can!

I got up at six am this morning. No paper. Bummed me out. I was already bummed out…from having listened to the radio during the night. The worse thing I heard was that Goldman Sachs…..I might have mispelled that……but anyway that they will walk away with 80 BILLION just for the top dogs of the company to divy up. Oyyyy. (This being from the bail out.) Okay…then the electricity went out. I was in the process of putting my make up on to go and visit my mother. When I was finally ready I could’t find the pictures I was bringing to show my Mom from my trip to Arkansas. Oh help!! After much swearing….I found them. It was pouring rain…..I did get to my Mom’s…and that was my morning. And by the way…..I am okay with the election……however I did write in Hillary Clinton.. I just had to follow my heart.

I was so very grateful that the election was not stolen. I really believe it was stolen at least twice before. Even though the presidential race was not stolen, there are some interesting questions about Alaska’s Senate race, where the Democrat was running five or six points ahead in the polls and now the Republican felon is ahead, and ballots are either missing or the turnout in Alaska was lower than it was in 2004. And then we have Minnesota, where Franken had been polling eight points ahead of Coleman and now there is a recount and Coleman is 600 votes ahead. In the same way the exit polls on Proposition 8 in California predicted its defeat. Is there a Bradley effect in the polling or is there something fishy still going on with the vote counting? A friend of mine mentioned that to him, race was never an issue in the presidential race. To him, it was do I vote for the guy who graduated at the top of his class or the one who graduated at the bottom? To him, it was so clear cut he couldn’t understand why there was ever any doubt. He said the economy and foreign policy are too messed up to want to put up with even a very charming dumb guy. I thought that was interesting. But what a day! Lots of smiles. I felt energized. In contrast, after the 2000 election, I went into a deep funk. I tried to pretend President Bartlett was the real president and I went into a TV coma. After 2004 I began to think we would never see democracy function properly again. A lot of people had to work very hard to get this election to the point where it could not be stolen entirely in plain sight. But there are still problems. There is a great deal of work left to be done.
