To me, spirits are ghosts or other things metaphysical. While too much hard liquor might have you thinking you’re seeing “spirits”, I’d call such a beverage “alcohol” or better yet “martini”.

Not to be a total dolt, but I could not figure out how to vote in this poll. I have clicked all over the place and all I get are the results, no option to actually vote, just a message that says I can vote. As for Spirits, I think of the metaphysical, unless it’s a Charles Dicken’s movie or St. Patrick’s Day.

i wouldn’t ghosts exactly but more ghostly than alcohol. spirits — souls but not bodies around to comfort, comment okay and maybe torment (although the torment is really a configuration of movies and not my own feelings). Most of the time i like to think my deceased father is watching and taking an interest although sometimes i would prefer not …
