Sing…out loud.

Yes–––––sing AND dance! Turn up the tunes and pretend you are twenty-two again. Then get outside and walk seventeen miles like Suzanne, if you can, and by the time you get back home you are too tired to worry bout nuthin. Have yourself a glass of wine, lay back and contemplate the changes of the seasons, the way of the world, and congratulate yourself on being whole and intact––if you still are after all this.

Phillus….here are some tunes to help you feel 22 again. These guys are on my personal staff and will be with Dudley when he picks you up at the airport when you arrive with all of your “old money”. They don’t want any though, they will just sing their little hearts out to make you happy all the way back to my humble mansion(ette) in Denver. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B6gSSsCdFeA Enjoy your flight and don’t forget to have pilot contact “Bubba” in air traffic control so that your aircraft lands at my plush ( repossessed, unfortunately) personal airstrip. We are currently bootlegging it until the bank finds out but since there is no transparency these days, we are heoping that will be the 12th of never!!!

Wow…thanks! Who are those guys?

Georgia, they are The Apples in Stereo. They use that apple part because that was The Beetles record label. They are musical geniuses in many opinions. They have been copied by many current bands out there as they have not been full time in their pursuits but are becoming more so at this point. They met at difference universities around the country and have been playing together since the early 90’s. The are currently the favorite band of Steven Colbert and they were recently on his show as the first “full band” that he has even had on. They also wrote a song for him that has been a big hit called “Steven”. They have been on many of the late night shows and are touring in the US, Europe and Japan of late. You can hear much of their music used in TV commercials and as background music for many TV shows if you listen and watch as they are showing up everywhere lately. Their lastest album is “New Magnetic Wonder”. You can listen to the whole thing on their website which is www.applesinstereo.com. Check it out!!!

Pssst…Georgia, I need to whisper ( they are close to my heart…one is my baby boy ) but I’ll never tell since most of these ladies prefer music of a different sort and far be it from me to ever ….uh…uh …brag….shall we say. But, so glad you enjoy them, too. Well, since I am already in bragging mode, let me add that they did a concert in Denver this summer at Red Rocks Amphitheater for 5000 and ( they dedicated a song to me) my heart fluttered to the heavens……flap…flip…flop!!!!

Spend time with friends, mostly ones who make me laugh (or at least smile). The negaholics are out. Enjoy the outdoors when I can and go to the movies, joyous ones if possible.

During these particularly hard times, I find it best to focus on the positive side of life and it is everywhere all the time. Look for the good in every situation.

I spend time with my dogs and work in the house and yard. It’s amazing how much you can accomplish and how great it makes you feel.

Hug my husband and my kids. I do the other stuff too…exercise. chocolate. good books. But there is nothing like a great hug to settle you down and cheer you up.

Barbara, did you ever read the publications on the benefits of tactile stimulation, and “The Family Bed?” I used to suggest them to my “mtohers” pre-natally and with newborns. Hug the family, tightly!
