Rant and rave and scream and yell - well that’s just what I feel like doing sometimes. Actually, I read, have started exercising, spend time with family and friends and get on the computer and try to do interesting things. Then if that doesn’t work, I rant and rave and scream and yell.

I can find the fridge blindfolded, I eat and cook and eat some more.

I try to remain positive and step up the good deeds. That always makes me feel better and reminds me that things are alot worse for others.

I travel. Escapism is quite symbolic of my overall unhealthy attitude toward life - “Ignore it until it goes away. If it doesn’t, convince yourself by running away from the problem altogether.”

I’ll pull up a chair in the yard and reflect on what a blessing it is to experience the beauty that surrounds us, to allow nature to remain as my inspiration for direction. That is to say ……. “how fortunate we are in knowing that we always have a choice, an opportunity, to achieve a brand new day ” ……………….

It is hard during these difficult times. I have always been a very positive person, upbeat etc. I read, sleep, and spend time with my grandbabies, for they are the ones I really worry about (as far as the future) I also belong to a womans group….and that helps too. And #1- Keep the faith!

I bake. If that doesn’t work, I take long walks with my dog. If that doesn’t work, I clean out my drawers and my closets. If that doesn’t work, I get my hair done. If that doesn’t work, I deep six myself into my work. If that doesn’t work, I read everything I can. If that doesn’t work, I drive a few hours to visit my fabulous upbeat sister. If that doesn’t ‘work, I whine to my beloved but no-nonsense man and he tells me to get a grip. And I get a grip.

Hey Ms Joni Evans. Love your response! And thank you for publishing my idea and creating this poll. I just read all the responses — all six pages! Aren’t these people beautiful? Many have really argued on other threads. But here we all are. Sharing deeply felt and hard won life lessons with each other. My hopes are that you and wOw and all the wOwomen — founders and posters — continue on and on and on. Thank you!

I crank up the stereo in my kitchen with some serious blues…and I cook! Big pots of soup, chilis, things that I can share with friends. Cooking gets me through a lot. My oldest son says when he was little, if he came in the kitchen and a large pot was on the stove, he knew I was stressing over something…!

Whoa! Crank up the “stereo”? So that means we are how old? But in the interest of having music in time of troubles….I heartily recommend that you get a free Pandora radio account and start “building” your own radio stations…..”Bright” blues (up tempo) are just great for dusting the floors sock-footed……but don’t forget to stir the chili………!

I find a long book and read. Usually a period piece; medieval is a great time to be in if times are tough. I also meditate and listen to Eckhart Tolle because I find when I can stay in the Present Moment it makes the tough times easier.
