I just filled my tank today to the tune of $65. 2 1/2 years ago it cost me half that. Incredible. We try to make it to Yosemite on this weekend for a music festival but decided not to so home in case we get call that our son has returned. Son being overseas and never knowing for sure of return or leave has affected us more than anything else. We watch our mileage and have double up on trips.

Nope! We are walking to the metra train and then takin’ a free trolley to the museum! We will walk along the lake front eating Italian ices and red hots! The price of this weekends adventure is under $50.00 yet worth a million!

The price of gas has affected my plans for Memorial Day weekend AND how many times I can get to the store and back this month.

Gas prices have not really affected holidays because most of my friends are local, and I prefer to spend my time with them. As my mom used to say, “A bad situation shared with a good friend beats a good situation shared with no one.” The gas prices have, however, affected my career choices. I could make far more money in my field if I was willing to commute. But with the gas prices, I figured out I would actually be taking home less than I currently do working locally!

Yes, I’m getting around by winged chariot, unicycle and transporter beams. But seriously, for folks like me who are really low on loot, it’s no laughing matter. The economy will take another shot this weekend when tens of thousands of people show up at tourist destinations dressed up as ghosts. Michigan is surrounded by the Great Lakes and has the 2nd-most inland lakes in the U.S., and incredible boating/camping/fishing up north, and the economies depend on the tourism industry, which is going to take a might hit this summer. But, hey, so long as Bush and the oil execs are lining their pockets, right?! Ha.

What are you paying for gas per gallon in your areas? I heard someone at work today saying something about $1.29 per litre. Converted to an American gallon (3.78 litres), that would make gas here cost $4.78 per American gallon, considering that the US dollar and Canadian dollar are pretty much equal.

The cheapest gas in my area is in the range of $4.17 + I don’t take any trips just for the pleasure lately. I’m saving my money for this Fall when I go to Basketball games twice a week. 60 mile round trips…..about $15 a trip. Even to go see my sister cost me $12.00. I feel so sorry for young people who have to drive to work everyday. I’m retired so it doesn’t affect me as badly. I have a disability and have difficulty walking…..so I bought myself an electric scooter. It was delivered this week. I’m looking forward to some jaunts around the neighborhood and down to the park (near my home).

No. But I am much more aware of the cost of the gas. We did decide to not take a raod trip vacation in the fall- finding it to be cheaper to fly out to California instead.

Ah, yes, instead of a trip to the beach, I am enjoying my back yard and doing the gardening. Wish I could share the roses with each of you….Remember those we have lost this weekend. I am….

40.00 to fill up a Mazda3. Am I in your nightmare or are you in mine? Yes, I was going to attend an interesting Law of Attraction group but declined due to the fact I would have had to spend another 20.00 in gas for the week ahead.
