I am lucky enough to have three acres and a bedroom on the second floor of my house with french doors that open up onto a little deck. I love this time of year when I can finally sleep with the door open again. The faint glimmers of morning light and the birds wake me up, along with the smell of the trees blooming just outside. It’s sublime.

I’m retired, my husband has left for work (he feeds the cats), thus, lovely, peaceful silence.

I only hear the snoring if I forget to wear my earplugs.

After I take my ear plugs out (snoring husband, but he’s cute), my two Jack Russells Duke and Ella, yawning making funny little noises, stretching, crawling up from the foot of the bed, tales wagging, ready to plant doggy kisses…it is oh so sweet!

Those f*&^%$# birds! And they’re starting earlier and earlier. Now they’re waking me a little after 3 a.m. I’ve been forced to use my earplugs.
