The weather! It’s getting chilly in Michigan in the daytime, and it’s been downright cold at night for weeks now. I bought some thermal wear Monday night. My “wardrobe” is usually decided the night before. I’m sure I’ll be wearing my waterproof boots soon, because snow’s just around the corner.
There are days that I expect no company, have no plans to go out and can putter around the house doing whatever suits me and feel quite comfortable in my pajamas and slippers and no one will ever know but me and my dog.
Franko…off subject, but if you want a laugh - and don’t mind some bad cursing (warning!) - check out this video of Bill O’Reilly going off. Amazing how immature and out of control this guy is: http://www.youtube.com:80/watch?v=2tJjNVVwRCY
Ha, ha! No excuse for that childish tantrum, though it was long, long ago. But just amazing. I’ve seen it before in radio, and have long heard from TV news types that the egos are even larger in the visual medium, which makes sense (cents?). Cheers.
I always put comfort first. But, that means I can still be fashionable and functional. Comfort doesn’t exclude the others. It is hard to find good designs that encompass all 3, whether it be in clothes or in tools etc. but it’s not impossible.
Good design is a foundational aspect of life that is being lessened by too many people wanting only inexpensive things. Quality is always worthwhile and classic clothes are a better investment, as are the best tools.
Designers, fashion and industrial, can’t work for peanuts. A well-designed and well-made object has to cost more, but in this day of energy-intelligence and in the interest of less waste, consider buying the best you can afford, always.
It’s ‘Function’ for me. If I don’t have to go anywhere, I stay in my lounge jammies all day long. If I can get away with going out and not leaving my car to pick up dry cleaning, a prescription, and a latte, then I just add slippers to my jammies and off I go. I mentioned this once before, but we live on a dead end street and know all our neighbors quite well. Most of us stroll around outside in our jammies all the time.
