You didn’t mention Country Girl a role that earned her an Oscar. It is really dated in the sense that William Holden makes disparaging remarks about strong women, but ends up with Kelly at the end.

Hard to choose. Rear Window then To Catch a Thief and then High Society

That was the film with Bing Crosby playing her alcoholic husband. Kelly’s role was somber, serious and poignant. I thought she was so very good and she portrayed such a different persona than her usual glamourous ones––––and of course, there was “High Noon”–––think that was her first film. I don’t have a favorite––I liked all of her films equally.

No question, “High Society” my fave. Have seen so many times could probably recite the entire script by heart. There’s no other film I’ve seen as many times. Love the dresses, music, cast and the set design…. so cohesive throughout.

Rear Window, I’ve seen it at least 25 times. It has everything a movie should have : class, a little humor, great story, and on the edge of your seat suspense…. and Jimmy Stewart and Glorious Grace Kelly. High Society… close second. I could never get enough of Sinatra and Crosby singing “Well, did you Evah “… The French Campagne! So good for the brain! That band, it’s the end! Kindly don’t fall down, my friend…. Have you heard that Mimsie Starr Just got pinched in a sailor’s bar? Well did you Evah ? what a swellegant, elegant party this is ! …. c’mon, they just don’t write lyrics like that anymore ;-) Hee, Hee

Thank you, Suzanne. You truly made my morning! I couldn’t even vote in this poll because I don’t I don’t think I’ve ever seen a Grace Kelly movie. Go figure? I better go raid Blockbusters! This is fabulous stuff!

EKA, I agree with everything you’ve said about, REAR WINDOW. Stewart and Kelly were wonderful. Oh!! And, the movie could not have worked without Thelma Ritter in the role of Stella. She was as sharp and snappy as ever … Just as she was in the role of Birdie, in another classic, ALL ABOUT EVE with Bette Davis.

And in “The Misfits”––Thelma always played the wise cracking gal who tried to hold up all those falling people.

High Society gets my vote. Love the music and the lightness of it. Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra, Louis Armstrong — just too perfect.

To Catch a Thief” no question. I prefer the original “Philadelphia Story” to “High Society” - always thought Bing was just too old for the part. Love the music, but I never think of it as a Grace Kelly movie

I loved her in all her films. I picked High Society, the cast is perfect — I agree with Marjorie. Doesn’t get better than Frank Sinatra.

I loved High Society, too. But in the original Philadelphia Story, Jimmy Stewart won an Oscar for the Frank Sinatra part.

Rear Window” because it was an excellent, innovative movie, also stared Jimmy Stewart and it is the only Grace Kelly movie I ever saw on the big screen. When I was in my 20s it was re-released to the theaters and I had the opportunity to see it the way it was meant to be seen.
