Would you rather have more time or more money?

I had to vote for money at this point in my life. But I can honestly say that when I was making really good money I would have paid for more time. Guess it depends where you are in your life.

Right now I’m living on borrowed time. I don’t know who was kind enough to give it to me, but I am very grateful to have it. I’ve had money and also been dirt poor. Money bought me things, but being without money brought me strength and a better understanding of life. Time is priceless…

If you’ve got the money, I’ve got the time….” Is that a Mae West line? Anyway, if I have time, I can create money….

Mugsy, my lifetime dilemma has been is that I’ve never had both at the same time. I’ve always had to work with the exception of when my children were small. So if I wasn’t working there wasn’t much money. If I am working there isn’t much extra time. I’ve never solved the dilemma.

Cynthia Rose has my vote! I too have had money, and been poor, but time takes the cake. I’ve worked to make money. And when I couldn’t work, I’ve wondered where we’d get the money to put food in the frig. When I had the money, I had no time to do what I wanted or needed to do! When I had the time, I had no money do do what I wanted or needed to do! I seem to be one of those who doesn’t get to have enough of either! Money can buy you “things” - but it can’t buy happiness. On the other hand, having time to spend with kids & family, & do things you love - is priceless!

Wait a minute. Doesn’t time “BAKE” the cake…especially on Candice Bergen’s birthday? Isn’t that today? Happy Birthday Candice!

Like others, I am living on borrowed time. It scares the willies out of me, but I haven’t the time to sit and think about it a lot. I’m not financially comfortable. The financial stress makes me feel that my time is running out faster because it causes yet additional problems. If I don’t have the money to buy medicine my time will run out. If I don’t have money to buy food, I will starve and die, thus my time will run out. If my time runs out, the money I get will stop and my surviving spouse will then suffer due to even less money in the household. I am in a catch 22. Both are important to me. But life is even more important.

Doll Lady, God’s blessings on you. He holds you in the palm of His hand, carrying and caring until you gain your strength and peace of heart and mind. Also, we need to remember Caroline, whom I’ve not seen here in several days. Hers is a struggle requiring whatever enegy we can give her. Peace and grace to you Doll Lady

The question said MORE. I have enough free time now to do what I’d like; what I’d like is more money, so I can do the things I can’t afford to do right now.

Happy birthday Candice! I’ve worked and had not enough time but enough money, Now I have all the time in the world and not enough money, but you know there’s not alot I need anymore either. However, more money does pay the bills, but things don’t buy happiness, people don’t buy happiness, looks don’t buy happiness. Nothing external does. Happiness is a choice and wherever I am , whatever circumstances I am in I choose to be happy. Happy Mother’s Day to you all, whether you’re a mother of two legged children, four legged fluffy children, children that have gills and swim or children that chirp and fly, Happy Mother’s Day and thank you for being you.

I agree with you that happiness is a choice. I don’t know who wrote this but I have it hanging on my wall. “Happiness isn’t getting what you want! It is being happy with what you have! Then you can dance like nobody is watching! And love like it will last forever!” I have always wanted to ‘dance like nobody is watching’. Happy Mother’s Day to you too.

i know this may seem to minimize some of the problems you have written about, but it seems to me that we all live on ‘borrowed’ time…i dont know why we just fritter it away til we get to the place we say ‘why didnt i take the TIME to live and enjoy my life’ instead of wasting all that time looking for something different/better..i wish i would/could take my own advice…im just as guilty as anyone else….

As a stay-at-home-mom, I have time. I may not manage it well all the time, and some days I have too much of it…I get bored easy. What I don’t have is money. We get by, pay our bills, but it’s always a struggle.

money, no question I could buy time with money. For example, with an extra $100, I can have my home cleaned, and I’ve bought four hours’ time for myself :D
