I agree with you Mugsy. I destress with new age music and meditation. If I don’t have that much time, I close my eyes and take some deep breaths…helps a lot.

I noticed nobody has mentioned sex. I know this is an honorable website but does that count?

Diane: Synchronicity. I decided to post this of just the kind of story that makes me laugh out loud. As for de-stressing, each to his own:www.asylum.com/2008/03/31/no-picnic-man-charged-with-screwing-a-patio-table/

Hi I have just discovered your site whilst reading the Sunday Paper today, thought I’d give it a try. My kids laugh at me because I am on Facebook !! Which I actually enjoy, but would like a site for my age group. to exchange chat and tips etc. Veronica.

Depends on the kind of stress - if it’s anger; getting out in the fresh air [and trying not to talk out loud!] and walking for a while. Have rant on my Livejournal! For sadness/upset stress; get into a favourite movie, favourite book - new book by one of your top five authors will do it. But anything that lets you loose yourself for a couple of hours and then sleep on it. Your anger needs to dissipate and you have to take a break from yourself. Stress from outside sources - moving house, changing jobs, getting married [missed out on that one, thank heavens!] and assorted nuisances, you cope with best you can - listen to your gut-reactions and truly go with the flow. Your body and your heart will tell you what you need - there is no one solution. i’ve endured the loss of friends, lovers & jobs; the deaths of friends, parents and beloved cats and i have learned one vital thing - you can and will survive anything, if you stay strong and if you’re lucky, with the help and love of good friends.

Going for a walk everyday…..just me and my ipod. I have walked everyday now since March 9, 2002……it’s just one of those things that I have to do no matter what.

Since most of my stress is brought on by fighting 6 and 5 year old boys, being alone is a treat. I love those kids, but by the end of the day I treasure my alone time.

When I am stressed I paint or draw. I get way over in my right brain where my Alpha Waves live, time does not exist, and I let the healing energy of painting flow through me.
