The main issue with the perjury charge for the Detroit mayor IS NOT having an affair with his chief of staff. It is the firing of the police chief when he refused to cease investigating an alleged stripper party and subsequent stripper murder at the governor’s mansion.

I voted for the mayor of Detroit. How DARE he pull out the “race card” in that speech of his to the city council last week! It was a disservice to the African-American community.

Growing up in the Detroit area, and having many friends there, still (most have moved “farther out”), I shocked at what has become of that great city. It’s overrun with ignorance, that’s perpetuated by crime, fraud, and marginal leadership for decades. Yes, the city looks like it’s been bombed, in fact, my son exclamined, “Haven’t these people heard of Bonds?” It broke my heart at first—once driving by Briggs Stadium, the strains from “This Used To Be My Playground,” came over the car radio…but GP isn’t doing much better, now…and that was a real horror. Things change, yes, but this Kirkpatrick has caused incredible strife in that city since he dawned on the scene. The first horror I heard about with him was greatly reducing trash/garbage pick-up, forcing residents to take their garbage to collection locations — knowing full well it isn’t possible for a high percent of residents to safely travel the streets at any time of day or night (shots ring out at night on the East Side - which is incredible to me - I could believe ‘West Side,’ more easily), and the average age of its long-time residents who have stayed there - and those too poor to haul their garbage and trash. In a city suffocating under garbage and rats (a huge one boldly waltzed past our car at the front entrace of the best hotel in Detroit) his early actions against the residents forced me to write a letter to the “Editor.” All I can think of now, is how wonderful it was to grow up in that area, when education was excellent for all students, where diversity existed, and I’d skip school to go to the DIA, or DHM (when still in grade school), and each friend was a different “culture.” For those who are hanging on desperately, they must realize that there’s a greater reason for Detroit’s decline in the scheme of things, and they need to move, otherwise they’re like toads slowly heated up in a pot of water … vs. those thown into a boiling pot - the latter jump out to live. No place is worth living like that…it’s very sad. GP - shudder the thought. It’s no long GP - sorry, but it can’t be with Detroit imploded, and the leadership of Michigan, Detroit, Wayne County, and the voters should be ashamed of themselves; this did not happen over-night.

Infidelity is around us every day, with every walks of life regardless if your in power or not. But for the Mayor of Detroit if he wasn’t having a text sexual affair with his chief of staff, he could of done more for your city. The last time I went through Detroit it looked like a war zone, your city has cruppled, and for me it is one of the most dirtiest cities I have ever traveled through. In fact I was in fear for my life. I don’t know what he said to make you all believe be was going to make a differnce for you all. BUT HE OBVIOUSLY PULLED THE WOOL OVER YOUR EYES SO TO SAY………..May be your next Mayor will make a big differnce for your city, clean it up………in every way.

Talk about being a hypocrit. Can’t wait to see if Spitzer’s wife eventually dumps him. Here he was closing down prostitution rings, while enjoying their services. I guess it’s the old “men think with their penis”. I’m just amazed that they can’t control it while they are in the “public limelight” for a certain length of time.

Choosing is so hard! It is like saying you are a little bit pregnant. You either are or are not. None of these have shown good character. As for their wives, they have to make up their own mind about what they are willing to put up with and looking in from the outside, who are we to say what or what not is happening. I think personally I could put up with the infidelity (along with a std test) more than I could the lying. As for them continuing to perform their jobs, that is another question. Many business men and women continue to do their work and have their affairs. Just don’t use my tax dollars to support your “habit”—that went out with concubines.

Very sexist question. You could have included at least one woman. Stuff like this does not help the cause of sex equality. It is basically angry name calling. How about trying to avoid this kind of high school attitude in the future.

Great, Brad! Great common sense there. I never knew anyone who commited adultry, marginalized the public trust — indeed explorited it — wasted public funds (tax dollars), destroyed jobs, and careers, held woman, booze and drug parties when spouse was away (yet sealed police records to run for office), and so much more, when I was in high school. Women? We can come up with a few; however, it’s the male-model that has the drive to surge to the top carrying a Bible, or other sacred scripts, and donning a halo, and mowing down anyone and everyone in sight, yet will not speak out on ethical and/or legal compromised. And, let’s drop the “equality” thing, huh - it’s equity that is important, I refuse to be considered equal to male! I’m not! I am woman.

Brad, Brad, Brad…poor, misguided man. I suppose Maxim Magazine does LOTS for helping the cause for sex equality? Just like I don’t expect Maxim to go out of their way to be “fair and balanced” between women and men’s issues, don’t expect a site for and by women to be slanted that way either. Enjoy the feminine coffee klatch!

I feel that each one has been a pig in front of the public. But we are not sure of what has been happening in their own homes.

You’re forgetting Bill Clinton was accused of rape at least once. That puts the others in the shade.

I had to go with Clinton this time…..was remembering the cigar and getting “too much information” from the media on his shenanigans.
