AT last!!! Something we all agree on!!
What a mess!! When you combine GREED and lack of ethics, this is what you get. I hope this message is not ignored.
Yes, and John McCain and George Bush when it happened (and I said this is going to get worse on that same day because the fundamentals prove it) said “The Economy is Strong.” BS. Days later is was ‘a crisis’. McCain who hasn’t been in WDC since April and doesn’t know anything about economics flew back for a photo op, and stating he wanted to cancel the 90 minute debate which would cost Ole Miss $5,5M. They’ve said the debate is going on with or without him.
And here’s what the House Financial Services Chair says about McCain: “All Of A Sudden, Now That We’re On The Verge Of Making A Deal, John McCain Drops Himself In To “Make A Deal”… for a “Photo Op” To Help McCain..
And here’s Palin talking to Katie Couric trying to answer simple questions, repeating the same canned words over and over or doesn’t know.

If you want to see a mess, look at the youtube of Sarah Palin above. It is so painful to watch and listen to. If she applied for a job as office receptionist I wouldn’t be able to hussle her out the door fast enough. She is a breathtakingly tacky mess who can’t even speak. Katie looks physically pained listen to that godawful voice.
governmental regulation saved us in 1933, and it is what we need now.
any financial package that comes out of congress that does not provide an organ for governmental regulation is a failed solution, as simply as bush is multiply a failed president. remember that this is only urgent in the same way that eating breakfast is urgent. anyone could have told the applicable governing bodies and individual congressmen and senators for the last year that something needs to be done. why bush did not convene congressional leaders with his secretary of the treasury a month ago is anyone’s guess. oh, right, he was on vacation.
Mary Lou,
You are right again. But, I think that something more sinister has been in play here. Sen. Tester from Montana has only been in the senate for 11/2 years and is on the Senate Banking Committee said that not a word had come to them from the administration and the disbelief was on his face for all to see yesterday. Bush and Paulson were collectively holding their breath and trying to make it through Nov. 4th! The reason I bring up Sen. Tester is that he is a honest man who joined the senate recently and has yet to be politicly roasted to well done.
This is great…as of tonight…a deal was worked out and McCain is being the spoiler. Not speaking, not offering solutions, but also not getting on board. Barney Frank said he is irrelevant and that top GOP members are for Obama. Christopher Dodd said that he’s been working hard for a week then McCain shows up and upsets everything. Even the Sec of the Treasury was miffed.
He is so afraid to debate Obama that he is willing to stall on a fix for the economy to prolong it. The article:
“One would think that some of John McCain’s Republican colleagues might actually want to help him become president of these United States, but no: given the opportunity to ensure that the presidential candidate might be able to make a substantive contribution to bailout measure negotiations, McCain’s friends in the Republican Party put their noses to the grindstone and worked out a deal without any Maverick input. Clearly Republican leaders are totally in the tank for Obama.
“How painful was the thought of working alongside McCain? Over at Politico, they report that Barney Frank minced few words, saying: “Nobody mentioned him. The man’s irrelevant to the whole process. No Republican mentioned his name. I’m the only one who raised his name. They winced when I did.” Frank also compared McCain to a cartoon superhero:
“He’s been irrelevant to the process. He remains to be,” said Frank. “I was afraid that his dropping in here, like Andy Kaufman’s Mighty Mouse — ‘here I am to save the day’ — I thought that would slow things down. I didn’t see any sign of our Republican colleagues paying any attention to him whatsoever.”
In spite of W’s attempt to push the blame on to the people whose home are being foreclosed upon… it is deregulation and the gambling on Wall Street that is to blame.
Do you see where the McCain camp is trying to get Sarah Palin out of having to debate Joe Biden?! He wants to have the first presidential debate moved back to the date of the scheduled Palin-Biden VP debate.
James,
If this scenero is as McCain is trying to make it appear…why not have Biden and Palin bebate friday night while the “big boys” do their thing. The university has been planning this since 2006 and has spent over five million?????
The university and Obama are going forward no matter if McCain weasels out. It is about a 2 hr flight for a 90 min appearance. That he doesn’t have the time, or is a key person in WDC at the moment, is total BS. And presidents need to deal with many things simultaneously….he is just demonstrating more unpresidential behavior that will backfire on him.
This is EXACTLY what Olberman said he thought McCain was up to, last night on Letterman. The American people deserve better than this and we had better contact our Congressmen and McCain too and demand this woman hold a press conference AND debate Biden. This is crap.
