As I’ve stated elsewhere, “fibber” is my word of choice.
Hello; I have started to read more on the politians (sp.) I really believe that Hillary is trying to pull the sheets over our eyes.
Hi Caroline, it is good to see you up and at it. I think Hillary is doing whatever she can to win.
i do not believe that obama lied… when he said he could no sooner denounce him that he could his white grandmother, he, the reverend wright was not publicly castigating obama, although his actions were hurting him.
what wright did at the national press club was, metaphorically speaking, spit in obama’s face. he had to reject him at that point.
circumstances change… if you say you will love your husband forever and walk in and find him in bed with another woman and reject him and throw him out… did you lie when you said you would love him forever?
Amen ariadne!
Leonard Pitts Jr. nailed it in the title of his column about the un-reverend Wright earlier this week:
“Drowning in a sea of his own hypocrisy”
Both Obama and his wife have lied about their relationship with Rev. Wright. I am a Republican who would vote for Hillary over McCain, but I will NOT vote for Obama. I think he is a liar, racist, elitist and lacks the experience required of the President.
All politicians are liars. They have to be to get your vote. Our political process is way too long. By this time we are all tired of all of the candidates. The candidates feel they have to lie to keep us with them…tell us anything to get us to agree with them so they get our vote. It’s all hypocrisy! I am lost here, I don’t like Obama because he is so inexperienced and socialistic, Hillary is still part of the Clinton team and would do ANYTHING to be president, which is scarry and John McCain is too old and uninformed on financial matters to be president.
You make a good point Martha. Who would you support if we could do this all over again? I must admit I don’t care for any of the candidates, but I do believe Hillary has everyone’s best interests at heart.
Politicians tell us what they think we want to hear. Yes, that leads to lying, how can it not? Obama said people cling to the familiar when life gets tough. Yes, they do. I know I do, it helps us get through the bumpy bits. But it wasn’t the politic thing to say, and led to this ridiculous debate over who’s more in touch with the regular people. What I notice about that, is the debate is over who is more in touch, not who is one of the regular people. These are Senators, they aren’t Joe Shmoe and while they may be able to empathize (some more than others) none of them could tell you how much a gallon of milk or a loaf of bread costs.
In the end it comes down to intelligence and characters. Someone who is both smart enough to understand all the different things they will have to deal with, and a respect for the people of this country and the founding principles and documents (the constitution and our civil rights).
I think Hillary is the BEST liar, since she’s had so much practice at it.
