Fox news had a group of Democratic party voters ….about 25. They were about even as to who won the debate. The interesting fact was when a question was posed… “if their candidate did not win the election, would they, as Dems, vote for Senator McCain?”. About five or six said they would and I think most of those voters were for Hillary. Interesting.

Barack Obama is the superior candidate and will be the Democratic nominee. Hillary Clinton finally admitted Obama was ready to be President, repeating her “yes” three times! And Hillary’s relentless attacks are getting tired and desperate.

Love Hillary, love her tenacity, admire her work ethic and commitment to service. Men have lead our nation since 1789. We are way overdue to give a woman a shot. Waaaaay overdue. Margaret Thatcher, Benazir Bhutto, Indira Gandhi, Golda Meir, Eva Peron. The list of competent female leaders goes on. How can we remain a cutting-edge super power when we are so far behind the times. One thing impeding this progress is the inherent fear of and dislike for strong women. And it is so often perpetrated by other women. We must reject this. We must look at ourselves and wonder if it is an ingrained product of self-hate. That women are somehow less than their male counterparts. That men are stronger natural leaders. Bush and Cheney have certainly proven that not to be the case. There is nothing “less-than” about Hillary. Since college, men have been telling her to shut up and sit down. How she has managed to fight on amazes me. She must have an inner core of steel. An amazing woman. And if we don’t elect her now, I wonder how long it will be before another woman of her ilk can move up through the ranks to this position again. Another 219 years?

You can’t be serious. Maybe Hillary is not the most charming person in the world, but you cannot really think that Barack will effectively run this country and fix the mess this administration has created. I am from Texas and in our town on Super Tuesday all the republicans that came to vote voted in the Democrat primary and I asked the election judge afterwards and he bluntly said to me that they all came to vote againts Hillary. Why do you think that would be? I am a Democrat and a hispanic woman and for the first time I feel that if Obama wins I WILL NOT cast a vote in the Presidential race.

Hillary Clinton should win because she can crack a whip… we all need to get in shape to face the challanges coming our way.

Hillary Clinton is the articulate candidate, not Obama. With the questions about Rev. Wright and other associates in the past, Obama couldn’t answer clearly, he looked angry and really didn’t want to answer questions. Obama has never discussed the issues, and this was a perfect debate to get a update on the issues, it didn’t happen.

Hillary Clinton has lied to us over the years on many occasions and while my heart is joyful because we have at last the opportunity for a female candidate, there is a bitter taste to the celebratory sip because you have to ask, “Why Hillary? Surely there are others. Why drag all that Bill baggage back with her, tracking all that muddy tawdry womanizing while she turns her back and manages the country with a wink wink and a nudge the way they did before. There is some serious damage to be repaired here. We could have done better than Hillary. Barack Obama is the obvious able candidate. I can’t imagine David Letterman airing daily Obama slip-ups the way he does with Bush. For some reason, God help me here, I trust that when Obama says he will do something, he really will. If he can, if the powers behind the Presidency will let him. I don’t think Hillary can break those strings. I think Obama will refuse to wear them.

terri, hillary knows where to exert her force in that office. with our economy and nation in crisis as they are, we need someone with a short learning curve, a plan, and lots of support from congress. that is why we do not have the luxury of letting obama bumble around until he learns the ropes. that said, i would vote for either of them. we would just have to remind obama that our unused wind and solar capacity trumps nuclear power for many reasons.

Do you ever even ask yourself why, when Bush Jr. admits he used cocaine, that isn’t important to you? Why when he lied to us to get us into that illegal and unjust war, the majority of the country said nothing? Why, when as Martha Raddatz just showed, interviewing him earlier this week, he approved of torture which violates the Geneva Convention, no one was particularly interested? Why, when his grandfather sold guns to Hitler during World War II, and his father was head of the CIA in Latin America when virtually all of the democratically elected governments were destroyed by “covert action,” we didn’t question “the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree?” But, NO, Hillary is a liar. Lord, pass the smelling salts. Mugsy is about to pass out!

Dear Terri, And you have never lied right? It amazes me everytime someone wants to cast stones and they don’t look at themselves first. So Hillary decided to forgive her husband and deal with everything else that came with that package. Do you also judge her for keeping her family together and for being a woman who would rather forgive than to tear the family apart. Where are your family values? Do you think that Obama has never slipped out of his marriage? I hope you are not that naive. All politicians do it, the problem is that some get busted and others are good at covering it up. She has dedicated her life to serve this country, she can and has all the necessary experience to deal with all the challeges ahead! She will win this nomination and she will continue receiving the strengh and wisdom from higher powers to govern this country successfully!

Looks to me that if their mouths are moving these folks are lying, hope they prove me wrong, but I don’t think any of the candidates have earned the trust of the American people.

I do agree with Stella. These are the saddest election choices that I can ever remember. When my friends and I speak of this election; first there is the sad shaking of heads, then a wish for a “redo”. Incredible as it may be, we seem to be about to get a president that will make us yearn for the days of our current one.

I agree with both Andrea and Stella, and think the most honest candidate would have been Edwards. That said, out of the remaining two, I think Hillary is the better choice. I can list at least 7 lies that Obama has stated, and basically skated, on. There were 2 last night alone. One was about the questionaire he filled out back in 1996 (the one with his handwriting on it that he originally denied seeing, and that he now deflects as being filled out by a staffer, as if that staffer wasn’t replying in Obama’s views), and the other lie was about his wearing of the lapel pin. Don’t get me wrong - this means squat, but his lie about it tells all. Here is a link to an ugly (GOP propaganda) video that reflects him stating, “I will not wear that pin on my chest.” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=72B3tUAqpo4 He’s lied so many times and the press just smiles. Last night was the first time I saw him grilled, and it was long overdue. Hillary seems to know the issues inside and out, and I must say, my boat was lifted in the 90s and I would love to have that same feeling of optimism back in our country.

Being from Massachusetts, I have a slightly different POV. Our governor, Deval Patrick, is a friend and strong supporter of Obama. He ran on the same message of hope and change. He is charismatic in the same ways that Obama is. The legislature in this state is made up of 90% Democrats, yet our governor cannot get any of his hopes for change through even one house. What am I getting at? I firmly believe steady-as-you-go Hillary would make a much more effective POTUS than sometimes-peevish Obama. The country won’t fall apart if Obama is elected, but don’t hope for change.
